Veritania and Al-Hezmin Do Too Much Damage
These two are just unfun. No mobs to fill flasks. but it doesn't matter anyway because they just one-shot you. With capped res, I shouldn't be getting one shot. Attacks are too fast to avoid and these encounters need to be tonned down.
Add mobs and lower the damage across the board. This game in general is just a one-shot fest with zero feedback or in some cases, any input from the player. I love this game but man, mob damage has spiraled out of control. Last bumped on Jul 6, 2021, 5:23:56 AM

Hello Felstag,
these two are quite doable. With Al-Hezmin it is all about knowing the fight and its stages + what to avoid and how. There are some quite good guide-videos on youtube. Just search for them on youtube (easy to find). + You can use the pantheon for reducing certain damage types. Just search for it a little bit, it is worth your time, because this will help you a lot with other bosses. You would like to upgrade your pantheon as well, using a divine vessel. With Veritania as a melee (like you are), it is a bit more difficult. Try to boost your cold-resistance really high, much over 75% base (certain items, skill tree points, flasks) + you can easily distract her by using a decoy totem or/and one vaal-skeleton gem. Vaal skelletons gives you a lot of breathing space for its duration and this works with a lot of bosses. And watch some of the really good youtube-guides about her fight. You can learn alot from them. regards + good luck |

Those 2 are perfectly fine as they are, you just need to learn the fights/up your gear if you have trouble with them.
Al Hezmins moves all have a long ass telegraph and don't hurt much even if you ignore them unless your chaos res are deep in the red. Slightly positive chaos res and shakari makes him a non issue. The most dangerous part about him is the phase where the 3 snakes spawn in the middle and attack while he is running circles. If you aren't confident in your ability do dodge those snakes just do what he does and run circles until the phase ends. They literally can't hit you if you just keep moving. Veritania has 3 dangerous moves, 2 of which have an audio cue and again a long ass wind up. The trickiest part of her is the fact that she has 2 auto attacks. Her normal one where she sends out projectile by swinging one of her wings which can be ignored since it does basically zero damage. In her second version however she uses both wings and that one is deadly if you don't know about it. But again, if you look out for it and just dodge it's a non issue. You also seem to misunderstand something about capping resists. Capped resis are not an optional defense layer in this game, they are a mandatory requirement and the devs balance monsters to be a threat to you assuming you have capped resists. If you want to have actual meaningful defense against elemental damage you have to go beyond that. The assumption that you shouldn't get oneshot when you have max res is also completely off because whether you get oneshot by elemental damage does not only depend on your resists but also on your hp pool. Plus there are other damage types that aren't affected by ele res and that can and will oneshot you as well if you don't have defenses for them. Al Hezmin for example isn't doing any elemental damage at all so your capped res are meaningless. Last edited by Baharoth15#0429 on Jul 6, 2021, 1:35:01 AM

As others mentioned, these 2 are actually the more well-designed and enjoyable fights. I used to struggle with Al Hezmin but once you learnt about the inner and outer triangle, and be patient with the fight, they are manageable. For Veritania, you can also try to warcry to lure her out of the spinning cloud when she stays there too long. I still find Baran the most difficult, especially when you are melee and mess up the runes timings, and the lightning circles can overlap and easily one shot you, since they can have poor visibility at times. |

learn the fights OP and you'll never have issue with either of those again, both very fair fights where mechanical dodging removes any chance of you dying.
Baran is definitely the worst, as he has the most threatening default attack by far the others are just about handling a specific mechanic. |

amethyst and sapphire flasks - i know its a bother to change flask for a fight but just do it. Chill and freeze immunity, dodge barrage. Stay out of the triangle, don't just chase to be kited like a mob, have some cc since you're apparently melee.
