Heartbreaker Dagger Spells have Culling Strike mod doesnt work with Bane

I saw that the culling strike gem doesnt work with Bane, however the mod from Heartbreaker dagger should clearly override it. It says spells have culling strike and Bane is a spell. There are many instances where item mods have override interactions. I rarely post, but when I do it's important. Bane applies a debuff so that doesn't count as a "hit" as far as I know.
So I would say working as designed and not a bug. |

Hit or not, it's still a spell. That mod should apply to all spells regardless of it hitting or not.

It does work, in that the Bane spell will have Culling Strike.
But having Culling Strike means that if it hits something, it will kill that thing if it's on 10% or lower life after the hit. That's fundamentally what Culling Strike is. So because Bane can't hit anything, it having Culling Strike is entirely irrelevant. | |
" Oh ok, see that's what I was wondering about because when the damage over time hits a monster and I notice it gets down to the last 10% and stops.
