Start a new char and multiplayer?

I watched a video that Chris was narrating and at the very start of the game it had two brand new characters. I would like to do that with my wife this weekend so we both start out together.

Searching the forum did not help me but if there is an existing thread / guide, by all means point me to it.

Update: So my wife and I played (a lot) today and we couldn't start the game together but once we were in the Shore Encampment we could join a "Party" and play together. It was great!

Mob's are indeed tougher in general but I'm not sure that the area bosses were "that" much harder.

All in all, great time kicking butt.

Mobs are a little tougher, but the real reward is that not only is loot better, but for this patch they upped the amount of exp a two person party gets (while slightly lowering the amount a 6 person party gets).

Great, thanks, I did not think about the "party" exp stuff.

After playing it makes perfect sense why you need to "party-up" in (the shared) town, er encampment, then you basically launch a shared map.

We played with a witch and ranger and finally made it past the prison (we aren't hardcore gamers, can you tell?)
