Sirus, Awakener of Worlds

This is the most frustrating and worst designed bossfight in game history.
I never played a game that included such an unfair boss fight.
Who ever designed this fight should never ever be allowed to work in game industry again.

A boss that can teleport and kill you instantly.
These whirls? What are these fucking whirls? Some kind of game mechanic?
The rotator, moving and don't get hit. Fine. But a boss that can shot you from any distance and can retarget his "DIE" beam if you dodged the first aim?

And then you get a 10%XP penalty for every death in this shitty bossfight? 60% penalty for all deaths? Hours of gameplay trying to get the next level just gone?

I will not pay another single pence on this game.

And to all these that get paid to play this game and have the time to make hundreds of EX, telling me how easy this fight is. A game should be for all players playing this game. Not for the 0.0001%.

And yet, once you learn the fight you'll come back and complain it's too easy. That's what PoE is all about. It's too hard until it's instantly too easy. There's very little time spent in the middle.
It's actually quite a fun fight once you've learned it, it's pretty frustrating to learn though, mostly due to the fact that you have to run 30-40 maps between every attempt.

It's also a fight that rewards good play much more than many other boss fights in this game as it has telegraphed mechanics that can be fully dodged with enough practise so you don't need any special defenses to do the fight. There is also no DPS check mechanic in place, you can spend 20+ minutes to kill him if you play good enough without the arena becoming uninhabitable. Alternatively you can also make a build with the right defenses and become literally immune to all his attacks and never die again. All up to you.
I dunno. When I think of good telegraphs, Maven comes to mind. With Sirus, GGG really pushed the limits on telegraphing to the point its almost non-viable, especially in situations where he teleports off-screen before firing off his "die" barrage.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley
Boss has been terrible since implementation, they aren't going to change it. The plethora of bugs that come with it aside, nothing should ever off-screen you, it is the laziest/most unintuitive design possible. I have no idea how it ever made it past QC, let along gotten worse since then...

Yes, it's relatively easy once you know the fight, and/or out gear the damage. Doesn't make it a good fight design.

This!
Whoever thought that teleporting bosses is a good idea deserves no job in this industry.
Trust your mind and strengthen your abilities!
For me, the teleports are a big part of what makes the fight interesting/fun. If he'd just stay in one place and unleash his attacks from there he'd be just as boring as Elder or Shaper who are more punching bags than actual bosses. You basically don't have to move in those fights at all. Go into melee range once and stay there the entire fight with maybe a small sidestep here and there for shaper beams since their melee attacks do no damage at all. No brain or movement involved.

Maven is also ok but she suffers a lot from effect clutter. If the timing goes awry you'll have to place the degen ground at the same time she uses her death barrage which gives you the choice between fucking up the arena or die right there.

There's nothing wrong with him teleporting.

It's him firing the "die" barrage that tends to come after is what bothers us. The worst part is on his final stage where he puts down the spinning beams, activates his clone circle, teleports, then uses "die" barrage. You're busy not getting clipped by the moving beams and the real Sirus in the circle to notice he's warped off-screen and is about to instakill you.

Overall a bit chaotic boss fight.

What i personally would like to be changed are the quad beams slow effect in the last phase.

The other phases (including maze and teleports) are in line with the character of this boss. He's chaotic and unpredictable so keep it that way. But maybe adjust the minus action debuffs slightly so player could react better.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
@Pizzarugi Yes, i know, that's what i mean as well. It's exactly the situation that you describe that i like about the fight. Avoiding the quad beams while tracking Sirus and dodging his DIE beams is what makes it interesting precisely because it's not always easy. He still get's me sometimes when i fuck up but it's one of the few fights where i feel like it actually matters what i do and isn't a pure gear check. Shaper and Elder are just boring as shit. Maven has those lose lose situations but is a nice fight aside from that. Uber Elder provides a similar level of thrill as Sirus and is the better fight overall. Aul was also a nice fight but way to rare unfortunately. Literally fought him once since delve league.

Sirus has 3 big issues in my opinion. First is visibility, the colour choice is good from an atmosphere point of view but not so much from a gameplay perspective. That said, after getting used to it, it isn't much of an issue anymore for me. Then the fact that learning the fight is so tedious with all the mapping you have to do in between. And his biggest problem are those utterly useless and boring storm phases that literally serve no purpose at this point aside from annoying players lives but oh well.
