Stop this 'Weighting' RNG BS

Oh no, you have 1-2 of the other catalysts but not the one you want? How could this be! Can you imagine the massive difference between 1 and 0?

you didnt get what 'distill' meant. let me explain - i started with 30 catalysts, traded for 30->10->3->1 and out of all of them, not even 1 tempering which i need. I did this for all my catalysts, the image is what u see left.
that stack of 10 imbue catalyst, i am saving for harvest 'change into another type catalyst' - which never comes, of course. |

I think it is best to just use Chaos recipe and eventually just buy the ones you need. Other way, you could run a bunch of Harvests for the change stack of catalyst from one to another and save the stacks you have instead of feeding the vendor at a loss.

thanks, at least a constructive suggestion. i do realise i can just sell the others or trade for it, what i am suggesting is to remove this weighting RNG altogether - why force us to trade? if this is league mechanic we get tane to spawn every map the RNG is there its still bearable. but we are already out of this catalyst league what is the point of the weighting/gating? it just doesnt make sense.
guess i will just trade for this in the end. |

Why force us to trade? Because the game is built on trading. I am annoyed every time I have to trade for an oil but suck it up

weighted rng drops has been around since random loot games were invented. It would be such a terrible game if everything was truly random.
Imagine dropping a lvl 70 armor when you are lvl 4...that would be just one example. Also, if everything were weighted evenly, there would be no value in any item apart from crafted items. Mirrors would be worth the same as Identity scrolls. Conversely, you would NEVER find the cheap currencies you need to play the game anymore. Game destruction right there. This game is SUPPOSED to be a grind, that is literally the entire point. Complaining about weighting is so shortsighted: its basically like saying pennies should be as valuable as dollars. look i did say its fine during the league mechanic, but now how often does tane shows in a map?
![]() in any case this, took me around 100 maps, not 1 eye, really? weighting is fine but it seems too extreme in any case, similar to calls for trialmaster too rare etc. |

I mean you COULD force Tane into every map in multiple ways: sextant mod, prophecy, scarabs. If you REALLY were hunting Tane specifically. There are other ways to get catalysts to in almost every other league mechanic you might run into.
Running maps willy nilly and expecting good results has never been the way to farm specific items, regardless of weighting/league mechanics. You stack the deck in your favor. If you ran 100 Tane maps (not just 100 MAPS) I'm sure you would find a handful of eyes. 100 maps is not a lot of maps... The trialmaster thing is way different, for the exact reason you mentioned. It IS the league mechanic right now and should be far less rare than when or if it goes core. GGG messed that up, but no more than things like Legion/Synthesis/Heist/Abyss/Bestiary where it was ABSURD how rare finding a boss was |
