You fail at basic logic. Just because gems don't have item level doesn't mean there are no drop restrictions.

Read it again, gems do have item level witch is 1 for all of them, meaning they all can drop anywhere(if the wiki's info is correct)

It did not read it to begin with, so I cannot possibly read it again.

The game tells me gems do not have an item level. I couldn't care less about what some random fansite tells me when official in-game information tells me otherwise.

Of course, there is a chance that the official in-game information is incorrect here, but unless you have proof of this, I will assume it is correct.

Finally, I have yet to see any substantiated claims that it is possible for gems with a higher player level requirement to drop from lower level monsters. Based on the vast majority of anecdotal evidence, it would appear that what I claimed is correct.

So the Q9 conductivity gem I got from Hillock DIDNT actually drop, and I've been hallucinating it?

I'll keep that in mind when I'm "prentending" to give enemies lightning weaknesses.
#1 rule of official forum boards of every video game ever: use the forums to relay info, gather suggestions, or the rare narrow-focused Poll; but NEVER as "feedback".

#2 rule: Never say the #1 rule in an official capacity. Let some guy on the forums say it, leaving yourself plausible deniability.

Cruel Hillock? I'll believe that ;)

Like I said, the vast majority of anecdotal evidence suggests otherwise — a simple search will reveal this. Until I see otherwise on a stream or VOD, or until a dev says otherwise, this is what I will go by. I'm not saying you're lying, but you might simply misremember or something.

Normal hillock.

the only way I know this for certain (that it was normal) is ebcause I've been "low level farming" for the last week; I make a char, play through A1, go to Fellshrine ruins in A2 and farm ill I'm 21, then move all my items to my stash, delete the character, and restart.

I've gotten 3 Q-gems (conductivity from Hillock, Summon Skels and Cold-to-Fire from random mobs) since I've started doing this.

I've also gotten a non-quality CHAIN support gem from it.

In any event, I'm not going to derail this thread any farther.

OP: The easiest method for you to get a multiple-projectile gem is to either start a ranger/shadow and do the relevant A2 quest to get the LMP reward, or trade for an LMP at no more than 1 alch orb worth of cost. GMP will set you back a lot more.

As it actually tells you the exact same think about currency items, i would just based on this in game info assume gems can drop anywhere just like currency items can.
