Not enough disc space
|
I tried patching today and I got a "Not enough disc space" error, there is 25gig free on the partition, so I dont see what the problem would be.
So I moved the files to a 1TB external HDD and was able to patch, then when I tried to copy PoE back onto the pc I got the error again, even though there is 25-29gig free on the partitions I have tried to move it to. Anyone help? Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.
I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_- |

Have you tried freeing up some space as a way to test if it is in fact an issue with space on that drive? I've never heard of a game not patching if it there is limited spaced.
It could be that the game patcher is trying to allocate more space than is needed to update/install the game. |

I would suggest defragmentation. You can find how by searching on "defragmentation" + your OS on google. Xp, vista and windows 7 all have a build-in one.

Did a defrag and it didnt help.
I cant save it onto any of the partitions on this pc. I am not saving it to C drive has as it only has 4.4 gig free. D,E,F drives have 25-28 gig free but when I try to save it on any of those I get the "not enough disc space" error. Another funny thing is that some of it does gets saved but only 13.3mb, wont save more than that for some reason... Just tried to install for the first time and get the "Not enough space on disk" exception.
The destination drive has 25GB of free space (external HDD) after the installation run. The installation process is allocating space. After the exception I have a folder with 12 files (4.323.379.447 Bytes). Will try another drive or free up enough space on every drive. One partition has only 1.8GB of free space. |

Ok. I think the exception message should be "Don't install on FAT32 partition." The installer writes a single large file that is larger than 4GB (Content.ggpk). When "Allocating Space" tries to expand the file over the 4GB barrier the exception is thrown.
Could the file be split in two in the future? |

The file will likely be split in future. You'll need to have a drive formated with the newer NTFS system so that it can fit larger files.

I am generally interested in why someone is using a FAT32 partition. Does the OP know why he has it?
I am sure there are good reasons, I just cannot think of one at the moment. |

I had the same problem. I can confirm I was able to install in a drive with NTFS but not on FAT32.
In my case the FAT32 was picked automatically by my encription program, TrueCrypt. |

" I use a FAT32 to write and read with both of my OS (Win7, Ubuntu). :) |
