Heist, what are the penalties for failing a contract?

when you leave the contract area without breaking glass - what are the drawbacks of that?

From what I gather, nothing, other than failing the contract.

You don't get Blueprint Reveal points & Rogues doesn't level up.

If you have no plans to run Blueprints & have plenty of contarcts to waste, just running contracts & opening chest but not breaking the glass to avoid the escape phase (if it's too rippy for you) was a viable farming strategy.

You don't fail the contract if you simply leave without taking the final heist target. You can re-enter after dumping your loot in your stash. I do this occasionally when I got some valuable junk and am worried about the final phase.

If lockdown has commenced, then yes, as mentioned, the drawbacks are no rogue XP and no blueprint reveal. Might be worth skipping if there are still chests you want to get that you consider more valuable than the target, and it's set up in such a way you can't get both.

the other thing you don't get is rogue markers from the stolen mark.
since every contract costs rogue markers to initiate, you'd slowly bleed rogue markers over time if you never finished any
thanks guys
