Camera lock/Zoom lock

Finding the new scroll in and out nice, but also frustrating as well on my sensitive mouse. Suggesting a lock camera button so I don't keep scrolling in and out by accident. I just want to put out there as well, archers (not rangers) are kind of at a disadvantage with such a close-in view.

Yeah I was worried about that being a problem. I was kinda thinking it should be something where you have to hold down a key, then scroll the mouse wheel. I use the middle click ( scroll button ) quite often for attacks, and I'm worried I would accidentally zoom in a lot.

Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet?
As a bow mara I am having a bit of trouble with it, and I don't want to use scroll lock.

But I also want to underline the fact that archers only have about 15 yards of view around them at the furthest camera distance, this is quite difficult for a ranged unit, especially a squishy one specializing in high DPS.

Holding down a key and then scrolling the mouse wheel would be fine, perfect, nothing wrong with that.

Don't really need the zoom function. Zoom lock would be fine, or allow us to choose which buttons to bind to zooming in and out. So we can for instance use the + and - keys instead for those rare times you would want to zoom in.

Yeah something like that sounds perfect. The game is all about quick function, and even after acknowledging the problem, I still occasionally scroll the wheel and screw myself up.
I noticed this, that I would occasionally zoom in by accident. What might be better and more effective is a wheel threshold.A small rotation of the wheel has no effect or for a small period of time the zoom function is ignored but small enough not to be annoying for when you do want to zoom.

I get the feeling that playing a squishy character is supposed to be difficult.
I have wandered through insanity;
I have walked the spiral out.
Heard its twisted dreamed inanity
In a whisper, in a shout.
In the babbling cacophony
The refrains are all the same:
"[permutations of humanity]
are unworthy of the name!"
Yes but when a squishy archer has the same short view range as a melee, which is only 10 units radius or so, it is imbalanced. I think all characters should be able to zoom out more, not just specific to ranged characters. But realistically, you do not shoot a bow from what... 20 yards away tops?? At least give us 30 yards or so, I don't see the problem especially with the expansion of all the maps.

I was thinking about this last night. At one point I noticed my camera had zoomed in from me spamming fire traps with middle mouse. Home should reset camera to default position. Camera zoom could be a toggle in UI menu.
