What is the point of item like this?

This game is sliding into some weird state where everything has a "catch" to it.
Everything has to have some weirdness to it to the point it's countering logic on every step.



What is the point of this item? You get nice stats and "Far Shot" only to fk it up with a line "Projectiles cannot collide with Enemies at Close Range".
This item is unusable in a game where everything is rushing towards you and half the time you are in confined space.

Who in the right mind thought this will be a good idea? What was the idea behind this, to swap helmets on boss fights?

Far Shot mean the more damage when you far away from the target

So, why you choose to stand near to the target?

Not if monsters spawn on top of you, like in league mechanic for example.

Try the helmet yourself. It's complete annoyance to play with. Like, no one will use it ever.

Ranger is awful for this particular league by default. Its not the item's fault, its the league mechanic's.
What if you paired it with the anoint vengeant cascade

This should allow projectiles hitting enemies close to you to do maximum damage with farshot.
If you have lots of projectiles that shoot fast it should work just fine as you will practically cover the screen in all directions with arrows.
Many uniques have wacky mechanics that the devs aren't sure are going to be actually useful. Sometimes the playerbase comes up with clever ways to make them viable however, and that's part of the fun.

Not everything needs to be good.

The item is a pure offensive item and I wonder if it’s strong enough to be a BiS offensive helm with 0 defenses; unless you are going glass canon or offense is best defense approach (which loops me back to asking if it’s strong enough).

Sometimes they release items that become truly effective leagues or years later when they put out some other mechanic or item that works with some old gear and that old gear is now OP.
