About the Oni-Goroshi drop changes
" Obviously when we talk about the oni-goroshi drop, indirectly we refer to the Uber-Hillock spawn chance xD I don't know if there's a post about the changes, but it's easy to see that those changes where made, the rule to drop the oni was to be at least level 7 in order to make uber-hillock spawn, as soon as there's people dropping it at level 6 (or even 4, for what I've seen in reddit), it means something is off xD |

I like the way it is now. You have to try to do it. You can't just stumble on it on your first run and get whomped. Why level 7? Because it's there. That's pretty much where you have a decent chance of beating uber-hillock. If you've been gearing up, he's easy.
I could see dropping it to 6 or even 5... but at level 5, I'm not ready for it. It would suck to get it to spawn before your character is ready. |

" My recollection is that Charan himself said that it was possible (for uber-Hillock to spawn) prior to level 7, just very, very, VERY rare. He wasn't sure, but that was the impression he'd been given. Regardless, what's an acceptable cost in terms of farming? For me it was 113 runs on one character, and 181 on a second. Is that reasonable? Is that excessive? It's a 6L, that actually levels with you and has stats, so that's pretty valuable. They shouldn't be dropping like candy. (Not to mention actually fighting Uber-Hillock prior to at least level 6 would be pretty unpleasant). But ... personally, I think level 9+ is excessive. I kinda think level 8+ is excessive. Flooding the market with them would be bad, but a lot of the actual users are SSF players (like myself). I don't really have a good solution, but if there were actually notes on it I'd love to read them. 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. " I'm actually doing it, that's how I know I don't enjoy it xDDDDD The thing is that Uber-Hillock is not an event like Ultimatum or Ritual, as soon as you spawn him, he will stay there, you only need to take him down using headbutts until he falls. |

I did it too.
I start with four Scions. First one got it shortly after all four got to level 7. I consider that lucky. After that, I started building the character who would use it. After every "stage" (new waypoint, fetch quest, etc.) with that character, I'd run the three left overs for the second sword. They were almost level 8 and the main character was in Act IV before the second one dropped. |

" It absolutely does. Ran a slew of characters for Oni a few leagues ago, a couple didn't get Uber Hillock until level 9, most around level 8, one at 7 and one (a templar) at level 5. Fought him for over an hour, but eventually the extra mobs he spawned while jumping around were doing far more damage to my templar than he was recouping in flasks. My templar even tried running away and waiting for the spawns to die off. That didn't work, Uber Hillock would just proceed to go on a jumping spree when my templar approached him. As far as I could tell, under the old system, once you had Uber Hillock appear, he was always locked in for that character until you killed him. Not anymore :( Wasn't until close to level 9 that the templar finally saw Uber Hillock again (and was able to take him down without much trouble). " I believe originally, uber-Hillock could spawn at any level, but chances went up significantly at level 7. After 1 or 2 leagues like that, there were too many OG's flooding the market and neither Charan nor GGG were thrilled with that (for different reasons), so the chance to spawn was significantly decreased at all levels. Unfortunately, pretty much all interesting discussion of the swords and historical information about them was wiped when GGG deleted Charan's forum profile. " Mmm, as you say, the historical discussions of the sword are sadly gone. I could have sworn Charan said he thought it was still possible even after the initial round of nerfs, but I could just be misremembering. Regardless: While I don't think it should be all that common, I think asking how many runs is reasonable is (to over-use the word) a reasonable question. It takes about 35 runs on the Strand to get to level 7. Personally, I think somewhere in the vicinity of 35 to 50 sounds good, but maybe I'm being too generous. How long does it take to farm up 9 Humility? That's not something I've ever bothered to do, but some people do focus on it. 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

" I'm familiar with the thread, I've posted in it quite a bit myself. The point is that Charan himself used to post in that, and in several other threads, and had quite a bit to say about the sword. (Because he paid for it). His posts have all been deleted. He has another account, and he does occasionally still post. But he doesn't seem to be anywhere near as active as he was prior to the Tencent buyout. 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff.
