About the Oni-Goroshi drop changes

After a certain patch, the Oni-Goroshi drop mechanics were changed, it went from being forced to be at least level 7 and have a "high" chance to be dropable at any level but with an extremely low chance.

My question for the community is, What do you thing is (was) better? Being forced to reach a certain level but knowing for sure it will spawn sooner or later or have the chance to drop it any time but with an extremely reduced % chance?

Personally, I prefered the old way, harder, but safer. What do you think?

The issue is that with the old system, to put an example, you are forced to level, but after level 7 you had a 1~5% chance to spawn it, with the current system you can drop it at any level, but the % it's always 0.5%.

Obviously it's harder with the current method than with the old one.

well tbh i think i've done it once after the chance and it felt faster to me. but then again i could have been lucky no real way to tell. think it's fine the way it is now mean it's a level 0 6l for free basically so shouldn't be easy to get by

That's the thing, i'm ok with the fact that since it's a free 6L it shouldn't be easy to obtain, the main problem here is that they leave to a really hard RNG, and they don't give you any guarantees, to the point were people ended up with 3 lvl 10 characters and no Oni.

The sword should be "a reward" to the effort of trying to obtain it, not something you get "cuz lucky" (the luck it's also a factor since we are talking about RNG), i'm fine with the idea of being able to drop it at any level, but it would be good to give the player some guarantees, for example, increase the % based on your level, so in case you are eating dick (my case, I have a trio of 8), you know that you can earn it doing the same process without having to sacrifice a goat in the way xD

i personally like that they made people pissed and angry for not getting one in the first let's say 20 hours. do you want to risk wasting your time and get one and feel amazing about finally getting one? :P or maybe giving up because of the time u sank in it for that glorious 6l :P no other content really does this and there for i dig it :P

I mean, I like the fact that they add this kind of challenges, that you need to put your patience to test in order to obtain a certain item, but there has to be a balance between reward and difficulty. Prior to the changes it was already hard, first you needed to level up to lvl 7, something that was not easy and after that you had to pray in order to make it spawn with an extreme low rate, but now you have an even extremely low rate and no guarantees of them saying "Well, if you reach a certain level (8-9) the % increases a little bit (f.ex from 0.5% to 0.75~1%) or something like that, they force you to leave it to the luck, what means you are doomed to either hit that 0.5% (if not lower) or eat some banana.

In my opinion they should rebalance the chances taking in consideration certain aspects, for example times you've killed Hillock, level, ACTIVE time spent on the map... To put it easy, take in consideration the effort of the player.

Regardless: It seemed about the same to me. I farmed up two this league, one hit was about mid-way through level 7, the second was early in level 8.

That seems pretty normal to me.




Additionally, as a point of order: The Oni Goroshi has a 100% drop chance.

It's Uber-Hillock that has the low spawn rate.
