Using remnant of corruption on essence bug

I am currently running haewark hamlet maps with the essence atlas passives.

Ocassionally, when I use a remnant of a corruption on an imprisoned monster, nothing happens and the imprisoned monster does not indicate that it has been "Corrupted", even though it has and you can no longer apply a remnant to it.

This exact thing happened to me twice, in both cases the essence encounter included shrieking essences (from the "Amplified" atlas passive).
