Claws or Daggers
Up until the Shadow, I've been playing a ranger with dual claws and really enjoyed it.
Now that the Shadow has been introduced, I plan on playing that class. However, I'm trying to decide between dual wielding claws or daggers. Which would you choose and why? I like claws because of the life leech. However, it seems there are more passives related to daggers and poison on crits would be nice. |

I think life steal is kinda important for a class like shadow, so I'd stick with the claws. Currently got a lv 16 ranger that went down the dagger path and although the dps is decent, the poison isn't really noticable.

"This was brought up in another thread about Adder's Touch. It applies 10% of damage dealt per second for two seconds. However is is applied *per frame* which means you don't see a pretty chunk disappear. It's a straight +10% 20% total crit damage and if you assumed you had 100% crit it would be a total +10% damage. Non-trivial but also not very visible because of the mechanics. IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir

I was thinking of trying daggers and chaos inoculation.

" I don't think that Chaos Inoculation is such a great idea for a melee character. You have no way of regaining lost ES in combat since you'll be taking damage all the time stopping you from regenerating it. You'll also need to spend tons of points into ES passives to make it even somewhat viable. |

"High evasion, hit and run. With enough evasion and ES recovery speed you'll be fine IMO IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir

If he's holding daggers backwards (like on concept art), I will not be able to resist that, so I will be going with daggers in that case. Otherwise, claws. xD

Ive been collecting both daggers & claws to test as I go. Currently leaning daggers for the poison dot as I am a huge fan of Viper/Vuln however leech from claws is amazing. Also, the added ele dmg values showing up on claws is impressive since .9.9

" Well, we'll find out, but I'm thinking that it between high evasion and reduce shield delay, it could work out quite well. Though I'm not entirely sure how reduced shield delay works. |

" Reduced shield delay reduces shield delay by a factor of (100/(100+Delay Redux). 100% delay redux = 50% recharge delay. As for ES w/ Evasion. If you go CI you'll probably want Evasion+Block pretty much guaranteed. IF you can get 100% ish delay reducytion on ES you should be able to survive just well. IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir
