Harvest is being nerfed because someone wants to gamble their raw currency? Okay, but...
We still have essence and fossils. We need those nerfed too. And while we're at it, can we also remove duplicating and imprinting in beastcrafting? It's not gambling if you can import your "crafts" whenever you botch it.
Seriously, this line of reasoning is ridiculous. It's one thing to nerf something because of how readily available it is to allow making broken OP items, but who in their right mind unironically yolos their exalts in this day and age? Has GGG lost touch with the community? I'm not denying the crafts were OP... if you could trade for them. I have never traded for Harvest crafts at all this league, and I'm still struggling to craft anything good on my own. GGG could've taken other options to make sure that crafts can't be traded, but instead they gutted it and ensured that not even SSF players can enjoy making something nice on the rare occasion instead of never. The fact that Chris thinks the people benefiting from Harvest are happier slamming Exalts just proves how monumentally out of touch he is. The people in that category are lucky to see one or two Exalts per league and we're goddam paralyzed with fear from ever using them because to us, that's weeks worth of farming that could be lost in an instant. We don't give a shit about TFT, it's just nice to feel ANY kind of agency with gear.
Chris just doesn't understand that to the non-power-gamer crowd, this "crafting system" of throwing rocks at your items and hoping that you get something usable is fucking cripplingly intimidating. If I don't get something passable after 2 chaos, I vendor the damn thing and move on because odds are better that I'll find something on the ground. Harvest allowed people at the bottom to feel some kind of control, and we just can't fucking have that. This is a buff™

Exactly my feelings.

They never said this is what the players want. They said this is not their vision for PoE. Of course people like easier, OP-er stuff. No one volunteers for a challenge, but the game has to be challenging to be a good game.
was too lazy to properly word the last part u get the point tho |

I feel it's a disgrace how they screwed the average Joe once again, letting the few reap their benefits. And this has been a recurring pattern so many times.
All they did was some catering of free five star meals for the elite. Screw everyone else. |

Question: Last Epoch does have proper crafting, right?

i do agree with you that the 30c eternal orbs with side benefits (duplicating insanely powerful bases) from einhar do deserve a serious nerf.
If you havent crafted any good items that just means you arent playing the game very much. Which is fine - not everyone should play as much as some people (me included) do, its not healthy - but the game is kinda supposed to reward extra effort put into it. It is supposed to be a haven for people who put unhealthy hours into it and make them feel like their time has some value. If it loses that aspect itd be a shame and it would lose a lot of its player base. I have crafted - from scratch - 20 triple crit multi energy shield cobalt jewels which are all perfectly divined. That is an unreasonable amount of power to get in 6 weeks. I have similarly crafted a double elevated explode / frenzy chest with t1 int, a t1 res and 520 energy shield without buying a single craft, as well as double elevated tailwind / onslaught boots wth 35% movespeed, a t1 res and almost 200 energy shield and 210 energy shield unnerve gloves with 50% inc damage against chilled enemies and triple t1 res ofc perfectly divined, because why not? Even one of those items should feel like a serious achievement. Something to be insanely excited about. Theyre just items tho. Items I spent a few days each crafting. two weeks on the boots I think? But even then, when i got it it wasnt the culmination of hard work and sweat and tears it was just "oh, theyre done. Cool." I hated that. I also hated the knowledge, that they were nothing special. None of these items - perfect as they may be in the case of my gloves - is something to brag with, because anyone who puts some effort into it can just replicate them in a manner of days. The only way to make special items is to corrupt them. And farming corruption chambers all day every day isnt my kinda thing tbh. |

" Wrong. The only way to make them special is exactly what GGG did, taking away the means to craft anything like it from the rest of the playerbase. This is very much how so called 'legacy items' work. The bad thing is, since GGG has no integrity with its policies, you never actually know if getting a nice item will mean anything. Maybe you had a set of divination cards before Kaom nerf, or maybe you bought a very well rolled cluster jewel before the nerf. They may nerf items retroactively as with cluster jewels, or not. But most importantly, the way they do it always ends up screwing players who do like to put in many hours in game but in a longer period of time. Those players get the short end of the stick. On the other hand, those players get rewarded who exploit the loophole non-stop for a period of 3 month time and already have the game knowledge via streamer videos or other internet resources to do so. |

" Nobody is asking for the game to be easier. And no, before you say it, Harvest didn't magically make the the game easier. What made the game easier were people circumventing the trade restrictions by using TFT. It's very difficult to craft anything worthwhile from Harvest if you were the source of all your crafts rather than somebody else. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
