Can someone please explain Earthshatter and Warcry interaction?

I've seen a ton of posts and videos which amount to "Do 1st Cry, leap, slam, leap, slam, 2nd cry" etc.

i.e. no one is explaining it, they are just literally telling me what do wo and in which order.

I'd like to actually know how it works, because the gem text is... shall we say... lacking. Extremely lacking...

Thanks in advance.

Generally, they are stacking two warcries. Seismic cry and intimidating cry.
(haven't actually played the build, so someone may correct me if i am wrong!)

Seismic cry exerts the next 4 attacks you do.
Intimidating cry exerts the next 2 attacks you do.

These stack.

In addition, Seismic cry's exerted attacks do more damage for each previous attack it exerted (so the 4th attack will do more damage than the first exerted attack).

So for bosses, you want to maximize this stacking.

So you seismic, attack twice to build up the bonus damage for each previous exert, intimidating cry so your next 2 attacks are super buffed and should kill the boss.

Hope that helps,

OK, thanks for that explanation.

Can you (or anyone) give any insight on doing Earthshatter then any slam (leap slam works, or a warcry) to "explode" the spikes? Like, is there a difference between exploding them via Leap Slam vs. a Warcry or does it not matter? Is there a difference between exploding an "exerted" spike vs a "normal" spike vs an "ancestral boosted" spike?

Thanks again!
Disclaimer: I only played Call of Steel Ground Slam champion in Heist Flashback. Close but not the same as Earthshatter.

From what I understood, Leap Slam is used as "filler" because it probably has faster attack animation than your main skill, since it isn't linked to Pulverize, but Faster Attacks. Another reason is because Fist of War has like 2 seconds cooldown and you don't want the last bonk with your main skill, right before you detonate the spikes with your warcry, to be a normal slam. You want to make sure that last one is the ancestrally boosted slam, because that would boost both the slam and the spike detonation. By using Leap Slam as "filler", you make sure to give ample time for Fist of War to finish cooldown. Last warcry is of course to detonate the spikes.

It does sound like a lot of micro-management which is why you should only need to do this against bosses. For trash mobs, you don't care about the timing or exert counts.
