The Eradicator...

Desync is something that you just kind of learn to live with as a gamer, but with such a ridiculous amount of free time this year I've tasked myself with cultivating a greater understanding of the nuances of internetwork communication.

The Eradicator is an Elder Guardian that has been in the game for a while and the encounter has always completely owned me and annoyed me entirely and I think I am finally understanding why now that I have dramatically improved my peer to peer comms in terms of my own network.

Desync... and "predictive"

I'm making a bit of an assumption here but hopefully someone smarter than myself will arrive in the comments wielding the torch of understanding ready to guide me through this confusion.

there are several things about that fight that just really agitate me, but most notably and in my opinion most unfairly is the eradicators areal storm call ability (rises into the air and calls down one, then two, then a triple stacked storm call on the player location.

I fancy myself as a person who is excellent at pattern recognition. As a person who has basically had a video game controller in my hands since I was a toddler quite literally I pride myself in my ability to go blindly into a new and difficult boss encounter and much more quickly than my peers recognize most if not all the "tells" a boss has for lethal attacks and then orchestrate a reliable pattern of avoidance and engagement that fits in nicely with the gaps in the bosses lethality.

for quite literally 2 years now I have never once been capable of dodging the Eradicators 3x storm call, always I must build up my character to simply tank the attack, and it is a profoundly lethal one to tank. I cannot seem to LOS the attack, Flame Dashing at a pixle perfect moment almost never feels as if it helps, even spell dodge is entirely unreliable.

But then I heard a streamer mention in passing that a "Predictive" connection occasionally will own the player in this way. Your PC momentarily bottle necks your data, GGG cannot accurately track your interactions with their server... and thus your character seemingly gets "pre-fired" by a lethal attack in a way that visually appears entirely unavoidable often times resulting in instant death and smoldering frustration.

All of this being said I have but one quesation to ask...

Am I getting owned by the Eradicators storm call ability due to my connection? Does Predictive connection genuinely cause this kind of interference with similar kinds of telegraphed moves (Timeless Emperian Sheild Bashers/ Spear Chuckers Scourge Arrows from the Hunter's minions etc.)

Not trying to complain, I always kill it eventually, but I never get to Keep my EXP bar filled and that is pretty frustrating when I am left feeling as though I had no real chance to succeed.
I have never felt further from what I know and love

Eh. 35% increased move speed elusive boots with quicksilver uptime and a well timed frost blink and I still cannot escape the AoE.

You may not be wrong... But am I to accept that the expectation is that I am somehow faster than that?

Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.

'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league.
Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.
Wait, only 35%?

Not if you are running with Darkray Vectors. Or Seven-League Step. Or a MS enchantment. And so on.
