Explode Chest on an Ice Caster?

Does the Crusader Explode Physical Dmg mod scale for phys builds or phys to cold conversion for my build? I rolled a splodey chest, lucky annul on the reflect dmg mod, and have been using it for a day. It just doesn’t feel like it is doing much for my build, so wondering if scaling is what makes that mod feel great. Thanks

Need to scale phys or AOE to get huge explosions out of it.

HoI gives you explosions too. As cold caster maybe focus on getting that going.

What kinds of maps are you running? If you juice up your maps as much as possible,meaning sextants, scarabs, etc... you'll definitely notice the difference. If you just alch and go you might as well just sell the chest.

IT kicks ass when there are a ton of mobs on your screen.

It can crit and scale additively with phys and aoe dmg. Honestly if you don't have much phys on your build, low crit mult it will not be as good, as it will probably do less than your herald of ice lol.

However if one day you'll wear a hh with it, it will dramatically change as lots of monster affixes directly scale the explosion.

Explody stuff become value when the chain reaction insta kill beyond bosses and stuff, because it allow you to skip some mechanics while ensuring everything you touch is cleared. Without enough scalling it is still decent added damage for mapping but it's way less good.

When playing without crit, low additive damage scalling values and no investment on AoE it is really not that good.

Thank you for the advice! I slapped on HoI and it feels the same as the chest, but getting better as it lvls up. Works out for my build too since I only run Zealotry on bosses being extra MOM spec, so the smaller mana reserve with the explodes feels good for mapping & delve.

I do regular alch & go maps mostly to farm Sirus, but occasionally do some delirious 80-100% maps with super juice. Will try out herald and chest vs the big maps and probably end up selling the chest. Thank you again.
