Why Is My Self-Bleed (Unaffected by Bleed While Leeching) Character Dying to Self-Bleed?

I am playing a Slayer with:

Brutal Fervour (Overleech)
Endless Hunger (Unaffected by Bleed While Leeching)
The Golden Rule, Unique Jewel (Bleeding you inflict is Reflected to you)

First of all, the obvious answer is that my leech is ending, but I am not clear as to why this happens, since it seems to happen even when I am fighting a lot of enemies and should have plenty more leech than I can suddenly run out of.

For example, it just happened 3 times in The Beachhead, which is a map I historically have had no problem with on this character. I have run lots of this exact map without dying at all to this, and tonight I was trying to relax and gain some XP, but died 3 times to "suicide" in a short span, in the middle of fights with Harbingers (not hitting stray totems while I might not be leeching).

I am playing Flickerstrike and using Melee Splash, and I am quite certain I am dealing plenty of damage, and theoretically leeching a lot.

Why am I suddenly dying like this in a relatively safe/low damage map? Why is the overleech ending all of a sudden, supposing that's the reason why?

This is a frustrating problem, comprising enough of my deaths that it represents a serious barrier to leveling my character...

If anyone has any insight into this, I would really appreciate hearing it. Am I experiencing some kind of bug, or are there inner workings at play that I don't understand? And why is my character consistently dying now in a map that wasn't a problem before?

Please help.

Have you tested without Abyssus?

Was thinking the same thing too, but Slayer's ascendancy makes the character unaffected by bleeding, so Abyssus would have no reason to increase a 0 damage taken. Of course, assuming normal logic is expected to apply even on an informatic environment. Which not always does.

I'd either think it's a bug on the (recent) change from immunity to unaffected from that Slayer passive, or an actual, yet very odd interaction with Abyssus. Passives and Equip doesn't seem to justify what's happening - not even the "you are chilled while bleeding" from the ring.
when leeching....are you sure you are always leeching?

I am certain i am always leechinng. Some of these deaths happen suddenly in the middle of me attacking a whole pack.

The most likely scenarios seem to be that something is either removing my leech (not sure how that's possible) or somehow bypassing the "unaffected by bleed while leeching" ability.

I don't think it has anything to do with Abyssus. I have played a number of Abyssus-wearing Slayer characters in the past, and I am definitely immune to bleeding the vast majority of the time.

Currently I am thinking it could be a mob with Nullifier, though I don't know if those remove leech...

Alternatively, I recently started using Inspired Learning, and I am going to try playing without it for awhile to see if this problem stops. If it's related to that, however, it's very frustrating, since I had hoped to finally try out wearing a headhunter on this character.

Is there a certain Rare mod that can remove my leech when I get it via Inspired Learning?
Update:

I removed Inspired Learning, and haven't experienced a single suicide since. I ran several more Beachheads to be sure, and I went from suiciding at least once per map to none in 7 or so now.

I feel like this all but confirms Inspired Learning to be the cause.

The question now is...how is Inspired Learning causing me to lose my leech or my "Unaffected by Bleeding while Leeching" ability from Endless Hunger?
Now that is weird, that might qualify as a bug report.

You might be inheriting the Vile Touch nemesis mod, causing you to gain poison on hit and killing yourself via self poison.
From the wiki:

Note: It is not possible to gain any "negative" mods from enemies such as curses or hexes. Mods gained will always have a positive effect either to improve the player's defense or offensive capability.

The vile touch theory is pretty good actually! I can test that, too.

If it's Vile Touch that's killing me, then it shouldn't happen when I have Brutality in.

I will put Inspired Learning back in, and see if it still occasionally kills me while I use Brutality.
