Shaper of Flames / Avoid Elemental Ailments
After reading the changes to Elementalist I was really hoping to see some better consistency for ailment-reliant builds such as Ignite.
The Shaper of Flames ascendancy node states "Your Hits always Ignite", which does not override the map mod "Monsters have X% chance to avoid elemental ailments." Now, I guess this is somewhat the same rule as e.g. the interaction between Trypanon (your hits always crit) and Resolute Technique (you never deal critical strikes), but the wording seems to be off. Either clarify and state "You have 100% chance to Ignite" or change Shaper of Flames to even work if enemies have a chance to avoid the ailment. Occultist can apply hexes even against hexproof targets, so I'd appreciate if Elementalist had the same amount of consistency. Ignites already are inferior to many other DoT builds, so it'd be nice to see that changed. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge. +1.
Killing a Maelstrom of Chaos Merveil with a DPS-centric Divine Ire by only hitting her with EE-dampened hits was... bad and perhaps unintended. |

It works the exact same way elemental ailment avoidance works for players.
Means: You will always apply the ignite as the wording indicates but mobs will always have a chance to avoid the effect. So technically they are ignited but will avoid taking dmg nonetheless if RNG says so. Works as intended but is confusing... |
