GGG should add controller support so people with disabilities, that make using a mouse and keyboard for gaming painful or impossible, can also play.

I want this too, but it's not just controller support. It's also a UI overhaul for PC when enabled. Chris has said in an AMA that they intend to do this before PoE2 iirc, and the goal of PoE2 is that it won't matter what you play on, all features will be present (e.g. controller support for pc, kb+m for consoles).
