New Battlemage ascendancy and minions

I see that my main hand damage shows up in the character sheet offence stats under my minion spells (animate weapon and SRS) but they don't seem to be hitting harder at all.


Am I missing something about minions or is this supposed to work?

It doesn't affect minions.

it adds damage to the spell which summons a minion. summoning a minion does not hit anything so it is irrelevant
