Performance downgrade from Heist to Ritual league

I played through Heist and all small events (mayhem, flashback, delve) and the game performance varied from my capped 60fps down to 30ish. Even in crowded encounters, I wouldn't come to a full stop (1 to 5 fps).

The texture streaming technique has changed on Ritual. Now, when I enter any town, I can see a blank floor, followed by a low-res floor, followed by some details (people, stashes, barebone models) and then things go to the maximum texture settings (medium/high). In general, this is a fine change for the load time and how you can still move your character with little delay.

The problem is that all those actions in maps actually generate lag spikes from textures popping.

I don't have Dynamic Resolution enabled, but it feels like when many monsters appear and I hit them, I start loading a low resolution texture all the way up, even if the interaction has already ended by the time it loads! It's also painful beacuse it feels like assets are being loaded more than once (I frequently see blank floor tiles getting loaded, even on a map I've been in for a while)

I'm playing on Linux on NVidia driver 455.28, which means I'm obligated to use the Vulkan renderer one way or another.

I want to ask if people are feeling the same, playing on Windows (as intended). A friend is playing on DirectX11+Nvidia on Windows and is not feeling so bad, but he didn't play Heist to compare.

Even on Vulkan the texture loading is terribad.

Currently game is literally unplayable for some, I personally gave up and been waiting for eventual optimization/improvements.
For me blurring occurs even on the loading screen, ingame it's about painful rendering which takes forever and severe lag while playing.

That's not even the worst part. Have fun during some rituals where the game literally turns into a power point presentation. I don't get how these things could possibly pass as ok...

I've felt both. A friend of mine has a better pc in both CPU and GPU and is not feeling as bad, but I'm stuck playing on a laptop, so the difference was pretty clear for me.

I am in the same boat. No major issues in past few leagues (since I updated my PC) up to Heist. Outside of rituals I still don't have a problem even on a full screen of monsters but inside some of these rituals the game turns in to a slideshow. It's hit and miss on these rituals, but now that I'm in maps, it's mostly a miss. Something is choking the game hard on specific rituals and I guess they have to figure out what.

The texture stuff is just funny to see in 2021. I can run to an NPC in town and begin selling stuff before that NPC even loads on my screen. Hey at least we don't have to wait on those things to load before we can move around, right? right?! :)

Gameplay is possible for me, but got worse.

Thank god I thought I was the only one. Some times the game is alright as in...average as always but now in some rituals or maps overall the game just goes straight to hell which is very sad for me cause I actually enjoy the new league mechanic and am excited about the end game as well but oh well its PoE I guess. Gotta buy a 50k billion millon dolla pee see to have constant 45 fps.

Yes, texture/assets loading got broken on this version of the game. It seems there is no cache at all, everything loads slowly even on the fastest ssd possible.

With Delirium it is where the FPS drops to non existent... My RTX 2070 can't handle the Delirium fog for this league...
