DO YOU GUYS TRY HARD TO MAINTAIN SOME KIND OF MORAL HIGH GROUND OR DOES IT COME NATURALLY?

Ahhahha.

First off, for some reason they haven't yet removed this post yet you are talking about politics, essentially. Secondly, OP is a pinnacle of hypocricy: he is blaming an international company he himself supports financially, for being capitalist.

I mean, it was a western scheme all along. It's like me wearing a thai t-shirt I bought for 5,99 euros and complaining how some fashion company is a thai plot for supporting a dictatorship (which, it isn't, not really).

How about go study stuff, kid. It's okay to be completely ignorant of world affairs, after all that is how we are all born in here. But it's not okay to keep that way if you want to preach stuff. There are already too many preachers and conspiracy theorists around knowing nothing what they talk about.

I love this forum.

Edit. Oh, and these days I'm starting to think the Chinese are about to have moral high ground to so called 'western values'. Not saying it's an accomplishment as such. So gimme a f*cking break, will ya.

I don't even want to tickle the sentiments brought by this thread nor intending to get into discussion on the topic.

Just FYI : any bigger company in CN just can't function without government permission, and board of directors is always in tight relations with the party (government). You can't even start export oriented activity without "knowing" someone, because reasons.
Company's assets and CEO in charge exist by the will of the party, any operational decisions related one way or another to the national security and interests get discussed by members of the very same party who take final decisions.

Business climate in CN is way different than in UK, pal.

its an absurd stretch.

It's not but when china wants something from a chinese company the company better as to bow or else get Jack Ma'ed

and? do you prefer it the other way around where private companies tell the government what to do? do you find something morally objectionable about a government having more power than private corporate interests within its own country?

we could look up companies like halliburton + history of the middle east over the last say 30 years and work out a a ratio of human suffering to corporate profits that has resulted from that example of the tail wagging the dog perhaps?

its a silly road of uninformed moralising to go down. if u really want to come out of that kind of thinking smelling of roses you essentially have to go die alone in the woods like the kid from into the wild.

Whoa... First of all listing other companies doing shady shit and spreading suffering around the globe does not and never will excuse the existence of another one. No shit... mate, they aren't the only one.

As for your uninformed moralizing comment... so your answer is what? Accept that world is fucked up, acknowledge it even and carry on as though nothing can or ever will be done... those my friend are excuses. Maybe I will die in some woods. I'm also not a child or uninformed. Thanks. I get it babe, you probably feel powerless against these forces so much so you find yourself defending them.

Jesus man, a whole lot of apologia and what ever else that is you're leaking. Imma go get a mop.

the honest answer is, a lot of those titles were to my knowledge before the change, after... well fuck I'm a weak human who happen to recognize those supporter packs are the best value to buy all these new goddamn tabs they sell with leagues that are more or less necessary.

Well, at least you're honest about it. Not everyone has the fortitude/temper/immaturity to do what I did and delete them all, uninstall the game, and then linger to remind everyone how awesome I am. I effectively removed the Ruler of Wraeclast title from the game. And not a single fuck was given. ;)

Is that you Charan? If not apologies.

Idk internet stranger you can call it immaturity, but uh I sense moral fiber... not a common thing in this life we live.

Either way I see you and respect the effort. <3

did i say it did?

the point is how are you going to moralise on ggg for being owned by a company that exists in a country run by a government who does things you dont like when you probably live in a country than is run by a government who does things you dont like and virtually every product you buy in your life is from a company that exists in a country that is run by a government who does things you dont like?

im not excusing anything, im just pointing out that for the majority of people who play this game their supporter pack purchases are among the most morally sound purchases theyve made in their lives, sending money to genuinely good people working for a genuinely good company based in one of the most genuinely good countries on the planet. a small amount of that money now also goes to private business people in a number of countries that at worst are probably as shady as the one you live in and fund with your every day life.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
oh god, when will these edgy teenager whine posts stop?

why would you even try to discuss with someone who is politically, socioeconomically, historically illiterate?

I rather go count the number of raindrops on my window.

Well that edit just obliterated your entirely true point about not spouting off while under-informed.

Rose-tinted much? Or much too much? You should be careful Snorkel, that level of cognitive dissonance makes you a prime target for recruitment from various groups.
