Cannot login or play game on PS5.

Whenever I try and login on the Ps5 all I get is the white text saying "connecting to server" it will not let me go any further.
I have opened and closed the game, I have restarted the console, I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled. Any ideas would be very helpful.

The options (triangle) is grayed out and all I can do is look at the league info but I can't make it to character select

I am having the exact same problem as OP on my PS5. I tried signing in and out of my PSN account from the Playstation home screen, but I am still having the same issue. Yet, my friend is able to play on the PS5 right now.

EDIT: I signed in under a different user on my PS5, and now it works. It has something to do with the profile. This does not really solve my issue though since this other profile does not have any of the MTX or stash tabs that I have obtained.

happening to me too on the ps5 edit: i fixed it. i reset ny ps5 and it works fine. so its a bug and i think its connected to rest mode

Resetting my PS5 did not work for me...

Same issue.

Logging out and back in doesn’t change anything. I deleted the game and reinstalled it, no change.

Resetting my console is a big step considering what I have to download again.
Any other solutions?

UPDATE: Doing a complete power down solved the problem. On restart and re-launch, at the splash screen I was greeted with a grey box saying "Please wait ..." after about a minute or so of this the game went on to launch and connect normally. Something about rest mode and account linking between Sony and you guys, would be my guess.
