Need help understanding "Power Siphon" please.

Hi there,

Just need someone who uses Power Siphon to clarify something for me please.

Power Siphon
Attack, Projectile
Fires your wand to unleash projectiles that fire toward enemies in front of you or to your sides, dealing increased damage and granting you a power charge if an enemy is killed by, or soon after, the hit.

Deals (140-159)% of Base Attack Damage
Fires (4-7) additional Projectiles
20% chance to gain a Power Charge when Projectile Hits a Rare or Unique Enemy
+10% to Critical Strike Multiplier per Power Charge
20% increased Critical Strike Chance per Power Charge
Culling Strike

It doesnt say what type of damage it does / applies?

Does it just use whatever is on the wand?

What can I use to support the skill, to increase damage?

Do I just choose X penetration as a support, matching the wand damage?

it's an attack.

it does whatever the wand does, modified by any conversions and increases you have going on.



power siphon with that wand would do a bunch of physical damage, a little chaos damage, and a very low amount of lightning damage.

to support this, anything that supports 'attacks' or 'projectiles' would be my first choice. Because there is no 'physical damage penetration' gem.

so, vicious projectiles, faster attacks, possibly Brutality (if i didnt care about losing the chaos damage)

Last thing, could I add "Chance to Bleed" support gem, if I found a good Physical Damage wand?

you could certainly add chance to bleed. that gem actually has some added flat phys as well, which would help out.

most attack wanders start out with Moonsorrow. its got decent attack speed and pretty high crit chance, and you can pick one up really cheap. then, if you enjoy the build and want to push for more dps, you upgrade to a rare like i linked (though hopefully with more damage and attack speed, my wand is not much better than moonsorrow)
