need crafting advice on this fossilised spirit shield...

Hi exiles, I got this pretty good shield from heist, I can use alt+regal to get tier 1 mana regen and tier 1 mana. Other than these I want at least tier 4 fire res and also cold res, and also good spell damage. How should I approach this? After I have gotten mana regen and mana mods should I craft "cannot roll attack mods" on it and slam it with an exalt? Or is there another better way to craft it with fossils?

resists are much easier to get than offensive stats. i would scour that, and alt until you get a dps suffix (spell crit)

Thanks for the advice, but say I got the mods that I want with alt+regal that do not include resistances, what should I do then? Should I craft "cannot roll attack mods" on it and exalt slam it? Or is there no better way than to just slam it with exalts

there is another option i forgot about (actually 2)


a high level essence can be used to reroll a rare, with 1 guaranteed property.

or, fossils with a chaotic resonator can be used, to reroll a rare.

it would keep the life roll, and get some other semi random mods, instead of using a bunch of exalts.

So I should alt+regal to get some mods that I want first, then only essence/fossil craft it? Won't it change the mods anyway

dont bother alting. you just have to regal to make it rare, the non fractured mods will get rerolled. the above methods only work on normal (white) or Rare items.

because it has a fractured mod, it can never be white, so you have to start it off rare.
