Bug with Chaos Innoculation?

My chaos inoculation ball lightning Hierophant just got killed a bunch of times in the delve with no damage to my Energy shield. Just instant death and an empty life ball (no red) with untouched ES.
Seems like a bug with Chaos inoculation not doing it's job. Was also smoked by the Basilica boss 4 times which surprised me. Please look into this, Thanks Last bumped on Dec 31, 2020, 5:55:50 AM

How would I show my characters?
I haven't changed any equipment, and I don't see how equipment would make Chaos inoculation stop working. Each death had been instant/one shot with no loss of ES. But if no one else is noticing this, something must have gotten messed up with my equipment. |

Since you are saying your life gets to 0 without any kind of damage on both mana and ES, perhaps there is a chance you are using a Sapping mana flasks?
Those flasks recovers 40% more mana, but will remove 10% of your life on use. With Chaos Inoculation, sipping a Sapping Mana Flask means removing that 1 HP, thus killing yourself. |

Actually, I did recently equip myself with a caustic mana flask (takes 15% of life on use), but it doesn't seem to be killing me in my hideout.

In the hideout it would not work since you need to be not on full mana in order to sip a flask. The only flasks you can sip even while being full life/mana are Seething ones.
Yes, baffled me too, didn't expect something like that to become literally a cyanide pill for my build. |

I did this with my first CI toon, years ago.
It's a VERY common mistake. Sip flask, insta dead. The first time my toon killed itself that way I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair. | |

Same happened to me on my first CI character few years ago. Just equiped "better" mana potion, went into map, started casting, died, returned, started casting, died... like 4 times in same map. Started new map (normal rarity, no mods), same happened... Only then I found where was the issue :D
