Arcanist brand + CWDT = fail

Hey,

Did I miss something please?
- Arcanist Brand is a spell
- CWDT triggers spells
- From Arcanist Brand wiki: "A low level Cast when Damage Taken Support will trigger a low level arcanist brand."


Just tried:
- AB level 1 + CWDT level 1 + any spell level 20: CWDT does not trigger AB
- AB level 1 + CWDT level 1 + any spell level 1: CWDT does not trigger AB

In any case, all spells, no matter their level, are only triggered by AB.
CWDT does not even highlight AB on the linking ingame tooltip.

Is this a bug or intended?

Yes, should disable manual cast ability and cast brand when damage is taken (not working).

With a level 20 spell, there is only 1 trigger (AB) if your CWDT is low.

I'm talking about AB, not a spell. It inherently has a trigger part and thus can't be triggered at all by any triggers even without any spells linked to it. You notice you can manualy cast AB despite it's supported by CWDT? AB just doesn't interact with other triggers, otherwise it would conflict with them.

So this description was added on November 27. I found this thread https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2889193/page/1 which is dated much earler - June 29.

So when Arcanist Brand was released it wasn't able to be triggered, 3 weeks ago it was able to be triggered and now it can't be triggered again? I'd rather believe that guy was high tired when wrote this.

While I explained this as a multiple triggers case and people from the thread linked above said the same, I'm starting to wonder about second potential reasoning. Arcanist brand on top of that is a skill-support (but somehow located in support tab in gem shop rather than in active skill tab) which requires a linked skill gem to work properly. Maybe this dual nature of the gem is a real reason why it can't be triggered and then all skill-supports can't be triggered by default?

I'd like to hear Mark-style explanation on that from GGG.

Yup, I stated it in my first post, that is what I/we try to understand.
Mark_GGG and the wiki, if I understood them well, clearly state the contrary.

We could assume that:
- AB is a spell (gem is tagged as a spell, but does it benefit from "+1 level to spells" modifiers ?)
- None of it's property is in the CWDT exclude list (Vall skills, channeling...)
- And should therefore have a big green mark on the ingame tooltip (and seemed to work weeks ago according to quotes)

Assuming it didn't ever work, it would be a clear answer and I would like to hear that too.
