Welcome to the world of GGG, where documentation vagueness rules.

GGG should delete the void character automatically after the rewards are rolled out. So Noone could miss it.
Guees the problem is Noone knows when it's time to delete it.

Contributors why people dont get when the draw is completed:

- GGG dont sends a messages like "Hello xxx, your 12+ characters where not part of the recent Mayhem draw. Sry and good luck next time".
- They dont signal good enough where people can check when the draw ends. You only mentioned it briefly in a wall of text, without high-lighting it via text formatting.
Make a permanent notification in login screen next time while event is running to avoid such situations again.
-Maybe as an extra: Add notification if players attempt to delete characters while draw/event is running.

But as a general rule at such events.

Tens of thousands of players are competing in a SHARED reward pool in all 4 league modes. There is no realistic chance you will win anything beyond the lvl 50 box, even if you tryhard/nolife. But good luck trying ;)

Its like winning a lottery, they could at least give 1 random portal effect to each participant for lvl 85+, instead they troll people with Mistery box. Problem is also that they give bigger prize chance per character trying to hook up people to spend more time in game in hope they will become addicted to it. More fair would be that they make pool based on accounts, not number of characters, also separate prizes for each type of the league (HC, SSF, softcore)since it is stupid that all types of league enter same pool for lets say 3000 prizes at lvl 60.
