Do u think a PoE Rougelike Content would be possible/fun?

I really enjoy Path of exile because i can always try new Builds and Skills with every new league. And i love playing rougelike/rougelight games as well, cause u can play again and again unlocking and discovering more and more.

Do u think it would be fun to do something like that in PoE?

I mean it would be like the Endless Delve Event but u would unlock new effects after clearing certain rooms or bosses. Granting generic def oder dmg buffs or on rare drops more Projectils, Weapon range, max resi or or or... i mean PoE offers so many diffrent stats that u could get quite the funny builds this way. Cluster Jewels, Heist Gems and threshold Jewels are already great ways to create funny combinations of skills.

It could also be an endgame content by allowing certain Uniques to drop during the Rougelike that could be transfered to the normal mode if u pay a price.

Just a quick idea. What do u think, what would u add/change.

I'm not opposed to the general idea of steadily unlocking useful buffs as a league mechanic (it's kind of how Delve works, after all) but you should know that you are describing the exact opposite of a "roguelike" game. Roguelike games are so-named because they share specific commonalities with the game Rogue: permadeath/you can't load a save to undo a mistake, procedural encounter generation, emergent gameplay, tight resource management, and every run starts the same.

The metagame stuff you're describing, such as you see in games like Hades and Everspace, is what makes them distinctly NOT roguelikes (as opposed to Dungeons of Dredmore, FTL, and Rimworld, where your 500th start of a given class/scenario is identically disadvantaged as your first one). As a general rule, if a game gets easier due to upgrades instead of due to you learning new strategies, it's explicitly not Roguelike.
On your character selection screen hit 'make new character' > 'hardcore'.

Grats, you're now in a rogue like.
Does one think a towerdefense fits insides a ARPG gameplay?

duuuh, silly questions

Yes. It was already made by GGG, as a April Fools joke.

That wasn't a rogue-like mode. That was straight-up Battle Royale, aping Fortnite's most popular mode, despite it originally being a side one (anyone familiar with Half-Life or Warcraft 3 will know these things happen from time to time).

Descent was PoE's rogue-like/lite mode. And that designation means a lot more than just 'playing hardcore mode'. It was set up to emulate a rogue experience on a number of levels, most deliberately, albeit a very short term one.

And yes, it worked. It was fun. it could easily have facilitated the 'meta' expansion style of games like Rogue Legacy, Darkest Dungeon and so on. Easily. But the cost to produce it was unfeasible. I sometimes dream of an alternative time-line where Chris took a little of his payday from Tencent and went ahead with it. I do know how much a permanent Descent mode with a town-building metagame would cost, roughly. And I can safely say that right now, he could afford it. Heh.

But obviously it takes more than just money, especially when your development resources are limited to...well, New Zealand and anyone able to move there.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
I was only partially serious before, but now having played HC in the 1 week delve only event, it's less of a joke. HC delve only is kinda roguelike. If you insist on going deeper you will die eventually, it's a matter of when, not 'if'.

I'm 76 and trying to get a 5L before making my push.

Edit: also read this the other day, the 5 people interested in this thread might enjoy thinking on it.

He adds an element to this Delve event which is that you can't go sideways forever to get stronger, you have to keep going down.

I think this would be a very compelling and competitive mode for PoE as a form of event/race.

As long as it's optional it would be fine.
