Lacerate is The Best Melee Skill in Path of Exile

I think Lacerate is good, but it does have some flaws. Mainly in its AoE "cone".

Most builds these days run content where they 1 shot the screen. Lacerate does bleed pops very well, but its still limited due to its AoE cone. You have to consider positioning and often takes a few swings to clear a pack if its a bit spread out Take a skill like EQ with bleed and you can just 1 tap and move on. The nice thing about bleed EQ is that you only have 1 offensive warcry so the micromanaging stacks isn't there. You can just run into the middle of the pack, 1 tap, and move on. Its much faster than lacerate.

Lacerate also requires an elder axe to really shine. Because of how fast you apply bleed stacks, overriding weaker bleeds with the elder mod procs is very valuable.

But thats the thing tho, it all depends on your goals as a player. Speed clearing maps, specing into EQ is likely better. But if you're trying to delve, boss, etc. Lacerate (I prefer block variant) is just safer.

I'm not sure I would consider Lacerate flawed AoE-wise so much that Slams got buffed heavily to the point where they became the better choice. Before that Lacerate was one of the more competitive Melee skills. Bleed Lacerate is also strong enough due to how much it gains from the passive tree that it carries content up until you need the Elder Axe to push the build further into endgame.

Lacerate is God Tier compared to all Melee Strike Skills. Only Cyclone and Slams match it in performance.

Yep, I'm with you there. Cyclone and Slams were basically the two other skills that people have been telling me could potentially be better than Lacerate.

Playing Glacial Hammer right now. I can say that Strike Skills mechanically are a lot better than they used to be now that they added Tribal Fury on the tree and Ancestral Cry stacks with Ancestral Call + Splash. Of course, on Glacial Hammer my single target is non-existent... but I don't think physical Strike skills will have that problem.

So you are saying they compete with Slams,Cyclone or Lacerate? No mate they dont - not even close.

Do I need to make that claim? Regardless, I don't think Lacerate is "god tier" compared to physical Strike skills in any case, Slams are another thing entirely.

Only thing to use melee for is to cast spells, so I'm going with CoC Cyclone even though they fucked up anti stun.
