If anything, this increases the shadows, since AO and RTGI both add more to the scene and make it more realistically darker. I could barely see any of the enemies a few meters away in the mines.

I guess you were stepping into the shade of copyright by not respecting the boundary of transparency.

Technically, your activity was detected because you were not transparent. (if you were transparent, it wouldn't have been detected.)

If you want to be assured that your boundary of transparency is respected by GGG, you may also be expected to respect GGG's.
It's about agreement, not enforcement in the first place, so ofc you can ask help for better understanding = transparency.
