Is Reshade Allowed in PoE ?

Hello GGG !
Is reshade (https://reshade.me/) allowed to be used in-game to add filters like sharpen/curves/effects/etc to make screenshots or just for the fun of it ? I know it's an outside third party app for any game, but it's only based on visual, it cannot bring any advantage to gameplay in any way. I think there was some reddit post that claims they are banned by GGG due to reshade

But why would they ban for visual improvements/changes ?

" It is not. However this goes against the ToS, on which GGG claims full property of Path of Exile and will not allow you to modify its files in any possible way. Fiddling with the content.ggpk is not allowed. Reason behind this is expected to be: bad advertisement when streaming, since you are "faking" graphically what the game is like. Don't matter if you are not actually a streamer. The fact some streamers out there are clearly using overlayers and other graphic enhancement is a different thing altogether, but it's beating a dead horse. " Seems somewhat understandable to be against the terms to not change game files. But still...it's not a hack...and it can only lower ur fps...so it can only take u on the downside of having an advantage over other players. Believe me, Schmockla, I was extremely fine back with Dx9 with the ability to toggle shadows off. That alone made my gaming experience way smoother. And it's a luck I did not get caught in the Bloom Nightmare which Harvest was for many players.
Unfortunately, it's theirs and they can decide what lives and what dies. We can either swallow it, leave it, or live in illegality until we get caught. |

I think there is an official answer lurking in Reddit....
The answer is basically if you tuned the graphics there would be unfair advantage in environmental like Delve that spot stuff more easily. It sounds as excuse but also the official red tape. You can tune it directly from graphic card setting btw. But graphic asset hack like remove shadow likely a big no-no. This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. Yup, just got banned on my level 40 standard character, ran Reshade for exactly two hours and BAM!
I just wanted my Raytraced GI and Ambient Occlusion that I use in every game...
