Farming question/results...(uniques)

ok so over the past few weeks i have farmed cruel merveil for about 40 hours total. i got the following uniques:

1 Araku tiki
1 The ignomon
2 Karui ward
3 Sidhebreath
1 Stone of lazhwar

1 Wurm's molt

1 Bramblejack

1 Goldwyrm
2 lioneye's paws
1 Shavronne's pace
2 Wondertrap

1 Dodre's tenure
1 Facebreakers
2 Lochtonial caress
2 Ondar's clasp

1 Crown of thornes
2 Ezomite peak
1 Fairgrave's tricorne
2 Goldrim
1 Heatshiver
1 Honourhome
1 Crest of perandus

1 Limbsplit
1 Reaper's persuit

1 Death's Harp (favorite flavor text btw)
1 Blackgleam

1 Ungil's gouche

1 Geofri's baptism

1 Shiversting

1 The searing touch

That is a total of 39 uniques.(this does not include the countless alterations i got)

about 1 unique per hour on average. sometimes i went 3 hours without one, sometimes i got 2 in the same run. (one from the daughter of merveil and one from merveil herself.)

i never got a unique drop off anything other than either the daughter of merveil or merveil herself.

im running with 232%IIR and 48%IIQ on the skill i use to kill bosses. im level 66 in a level 40 zone. i get very few orb drops(due to negatives from level) i am running in cruel because it is a lv 40 zone and i want a chance to get my summoner a midnight bargain.

ok, here is the question:

Out of the 39 uniques i have found. not one of them has been worth over 1 gcp in value(i got low rolls on the ones that could have been worth more.) I have heard that GGG has said that you have less of a chance to find unique items that are 'more powerful'. meaning the ones like astramentis or andivarius. Why is it that out of 39 uniques that i have found so far, not one was even a low roll of something that i could sell for more than 1 gcp?

none of the belts dropped, no rings, none of the different onyx ammy's.

my friend farms normal merveil, and before he found his two perfect andivarius rings he was running the same IIR/IIQ as myself within 5% of each. he has, as stated, found 2 perfect andivarius and 1 perfect astramentis, a few aursize.. a couple meginords/magnate. (not all of these were on normal merv, but the andivarius' were.)

both he and i do not multibox.

im wondering why the difference in what we find is so great? i know RNG means RANDOM number generator, but it feels like i am particularly unlucky.

p.s. if these numbers can be used toward making any kind of database i hope i helped ya out.

p.p.s. this is not a QQ thread, while i would like to have gotten more to sell, im fine with what i get and am not trying to complain about one thing or another, i merely want to know if anyone has done the math on how rare those 'good' or more sought after uniques actually are.

p.p.p.s. also when i really want a midnight bargain to drop for my summoner its really frustrating when all those rare engraved wands drop lol

while i'm not farming specific bosses for uniques i seem to be in a similar boat to you OP. finding many (53 so far), but nothing outrageously amazing. (and not finding an andvarius which is what i'm after damnnit!)

speaking of odd luck I had 2 uniques drop for me last night from separate mobs in Fellshrine Merciless, about 10 minutes apart. Both of them were The Searing Touch. :(

Normal Merveil has a smaller loot table, per sey. This gives your friend a higher chance to get uniques within that possible level range (I forget what it was for unique mobs 2-4 levels above possible? Someone clarify if you can please).

Your best bet is to farm a unique mob that is as close as possible to the level requirement for the unique you want (I think). I'd like to think the higher level the mob is the wider the range of possible uniques it can drop.

Thats about all I can offer its been a long time since I farmed uniques. GL and GJ on your nice loot ;)

This really works. Found a unique on the fourth run. Not to mention a ton of yellows and a few chromatic orbs.
I'll be 73 soon.

I've only gotten one unique: that piece of crap Araku Tiki amulet that nobody wants.

I don't even understand how that works with getting tons of them. I never see them actually drop and I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

i am specifically farming for uniques using a ton of +IIR killing a unique mob(Merveil) which tends to drop more items with higher rarity to begin with so my chance of getting a unique is that much higher

also, i plan on trying out normal merveil to see if i can restrict my unique pool enough to help me get andivarius or a few other choice low level uniques.
