The rarity of unique heists creates a natural imbalance with their difficulty
So I finally got my first unique heist of the league last night, on my 3rd build of the league (technically 4th, but only the third which reached higher maps).
At level 94. After I've already (on this character): - Completed every single non-unique map on the Atlas, awakened a fair amount of them - Beat Shaper, Elder, T16 guardians and conquerors, multiple masterminds, Sirus, and several Synth bosses - Run the Simulacrum, the T16 Beachhead, and other ultra-endgame non-boss content - Dozens if not hundreds of T16 heists/grand heists Making the content super rare is a problem in its own right (gating stuff behind RNG, yadda yadda) that's been brought up by plenty other people so I really don't need to get into it again. What I want to say, though, is that the unique heist boss I fought was LAUGHABLY easy compared to all of the content I naturally faced earlier in the progression. I didn't even have to dodge any of the attacks; I literally could not be killed by this content, and it died in a couple seconds. If you're going to make a league boss harder to find than the Shaper, it needs to be harder than a T14 white map boss. It was so easy that I was certain it was only part one of several, a la Catarina, but then... that was it. The items fell to the ground and I laughed out loud at how anticlimactic it all was, which can't have possibly been what you guys at GGG were going for. " Yes I have. I think? There doesn't seem to be a way of actually tracking that in-game but all of the major plotlines are at the "let's go kill the bad guy" point, heist-wise. I think that's really the core of the problem, though: in the time it took me to first complete all green contracts, and THEN get the unique to drop, my build's power has scaled to the point where the unique heist bosses are laughable. |

There are other Unique Heist Bosses which are not to made fun about ... :(
But: problem is the spawnrate of Smugglers Stashes. I did over 40 T16/15/14 Maps today and not a single Spawn. And the other days I had smugglers they drop all only some markers and a normal contract. No fun ... |

" I'm certainly not going to argue that maybe other unique heist bosses get harder, eventually, than the one I ran. The problem is... how much harder? Because at this rate, I'll have done AL8 Sirus and Uber Elder long before I even see my second one. |
