Sure, it's just tools that require the game to be running, planners and trade tools you use to post your gear can be used on their own, but macros and overlays can't.

they are not unable to say, they choose not to say it because it would be held up as proof by idiots if they get banned after the addon gets changed to something malicious/abusive, which HAS happened.

Which is why I specifically asked whether it is okay to use in its current form. I know that if something changes fundamentally with a tool, it may change whether it is allowed or not.

rules are pretty clear

the tool must not
- impersonate the client towards the server
- intercept and decode the data exchange of the client with the server
- modify the files of the client in any way
- grabbing the screen output of the client in any way
- reading or modifying the client's memory space
- sending keyboard input to the client that results in multiple actions triggered on the server

what's allowed is basically reading the win clipboard and the client's logfile and evaluating it as well as sending single keystrokes or command strings to the client.


all the stuff that is borderline illegal like parsing the poe trade api and make the client sending buy requests to those people ... you better have not supported the game with the account you use to do that.

which is my main problem with this: as a supporter you're handicapped cause you can lose something.

bans for using half illegal tools are useful if all people already paid for a subscription or battle pass.

ggg has reinvented the genre and revolutionised free to play games but took the procedures and methods from the old world they had left behind without evaluating them if they fit their business model.

Also, does Awakened PoE Trade do any of this? The one at risk I would say is the "grabbing the screen output of the client", but I assume it uses a ctrl+c macro and then uses the Windows clipboard?

can't quote, this is essentially what they wrote and told in videos over the years.

i don't use any tools except some simple scripts to do a /hideout or /delve, i'm not a power player.

also, i'm too lazy to lookup new features after those tools update themselves if the now contain stuff that's illegal.

That's just the way it is, same with macros in most games for many years. They can't really stop it, and it's mostly used fairly but they can't just generally condone it openly.

With these types of things you should NEVER ask support - just look around what tools people are using and google if anyone ever got banned etc. And then make up your own mind.
