PoE support unable to tell whether Awakened PoE Trade is allowed or not

So I tried to find out whether using Awakened PoE Trade (advertised by Grimro recently on his stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PrgnshQCuk) is allowed or not.

The result: The support cannot tell.

I mean, seriously, what is this? How shall I play this game when the rules are so fuzzy that I can't know whether I will get banned for using a tool that everyone else seems to be using? How is that an equal playing field?

I guess I can assume it is fine, because streamers are using it, but given the reports I've seen here recently about how you are not even informed about what you were banned for, that seems risky.

The only statement I could get out of them was: "All we can suggest is not using any software that may interact with the game files or offer an in game advantage."

Using an image viewer to have the Syndicate cheat sheet open on a second monitor offers an in-game advantage. Using Chrome to view Youtube videos about PoE offers an in-game advantage. So the support essentially tells me not to use Chrome to research anything about the game. Technically, they tell me that I can't even use their own trade website, or their main website, because I can't access them without third-party software.

So here is my feedback: Please decide what is allowed and what is not, and communicate clearly. Ideally by providing a whitelist of things that we are allowed to use, and a blacklist of things that we are not.

And people wonder why the devs rarely respond on this subforum.

Tool looks great so I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread.

If it's ever confirmed that it's safe to use without getting banned, I might use it. It doesn't look like a tool that requires plugins to function, plus I hate needlessly fucking around in trade site and PoE Price Info when I'm cleaning out the dump tabs.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

is it really necessary to explain why chrome/syndicate sheet on a 2nd screen is very different from using stuff like Awakened PoE Trade ?

fine...

chrome etc doesnt! interact with the gamefiles,it could be used with or without the game running and/or a 2nd device

tools like Awakened PoE Trade read stuff from inside! the game and if you havent programmed it yourself and/or read the entire code of the tool you are using,
you cant be sure what exacly it does.
the tool might make more than you see

ggg doesnt want to be responsible when 3rd party tools read out your personal game data (acoount infos etc) and/or negative affect the client performance
ggg would have to check the tools every update,be it their own
game update or a change in the tool which is a lot of extra work

they dont want or can check these tool, they probably dont even want "in" the game, so saying "dont use 3rd party tools" is the right call to make

Anything that can have a possible effect on the account I try my best to not use however in the past support have given some confirmations themselves when I asked however as of this era they haven't really been straight forward with me.

Trading is what I do and a part of a key thing as a poe player well most of them anyway and me not knowing what is allowed now or what is not is pretty aggravating.

It isn't the only reason, something like a flask macro wouldn't have to interact with game files, sending inputs to the game is no more than your keyboard does. So, there's also the factor of 'unfair advantage', and where the line is drawn on that should indeed be as clear as possible to prevent misunderstandings.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Guess this is a first, me agreeing with I_NO.

I asked them specifically if Awakened PoE Trade is acceptable in its current state, not whether it will be OK in the future. It is super unclear what is allowed and what is not, and that is extremely frustrating.

BTW, they were able to confirm that autoclickers (to prevent RSI from fusing items) are not allowed.

i know that, its just a lot harder to explain where the unfair advantages start

i thought just using interaction with the game vs no interaction would be easier and more clear to understand

Sure, they could just draw the line at '3rd party tools you don't interact with during playing', so macros and overlays would be a nope, but most trading tools and planners would be fine.

I interact with planners during gameplay, but I guess I know what you mean.

Also, pretty much all the streamers use pricing tools, no?
