Hello, I have been doing some testing as it would seem the Anomalous animate guardian gem may not be working as intended.

Testing done:
Equipped the normal version in hideout and trapping my animate guardian and stepping away from it until at the range when it's auras would flicker due to it wiggling around attempting to path to me.

I then swapped to the Anomalous 21% qual gem. This should grant Minions have 63% increased Area of Effect and extend the range of the buff effects to me at this location. However nothing changes on my buff bar and I still only see the aura parodically as the armored guy wiggles around at my wall.

I also checked unsummoning and summoning the AG with the new gem to see if he just wasn't updating on gem swap. This did not fix the issue.


To my knowledge the animate guardian does not itself have an AoE attack, nor can it trigger AoE attack given to it by weapons. So I'm fairly certain the intent of this ALT gem was to increase the range of buff it provides (Aside from if you where to link meele splash on him). If this is not the case, then I guess this is working as intended, but would be as useless as projectile speed on Cyclone.

GGG, please make the quality compatible with item's AOE. The gem is useless elsewise.

It's not bugged. The mod applies to AG's MINIONS, Not yours, not him.

This is incorrect.

The wording "Minions something something" is common amongst several minion gems, and applies to minions created by the skill, such as an Animated Guardian.

I really wonder why they made this alt qual version ...
