I'm always surprised by what names from books are available, but looking at some of the truly classy ideas of 'best name' here, I probably shouldn't be. Did you try for SeomanSnowlock? I imagine that one went quick; Memory, Sorrow and Thorn isn't that obscure...

I honestly can't remember. Part of the joy of playing a game with so many creatively-disinclined galaxy brains and ESL folk is lame puns are really easy to claim. Discounting all of those...maybe DirtyHarryPotter the early Wandslinger. I dunno. Still kind of a pun. This account still has TheSevenYearWitch (made after my seven year PoE anniversary, I figure), WhoreOfHellfire (thanks Gravy), RadicalVenomist, TwoShivsOneCrit (some of you might be too young to remember the inspiration for that one), ObsessiveConvulsive...yeah, just lots of wordplay really.

I did have plain old 'Charan' but someone took it after I deleted it and forgot to grab it again after OG went in. Ironic, I suppose -- put a vanity item into the game, lose the name you're trying to be vain about.

That's GREAT. Legitimately, truly awesome. I love seeing couples' names.

One of my favourites was a couple on an MMORPG. One was a ranger, the other a shapeshifting druid. He was IComeInBeast and she was simply Beast. Subtle, guys. Real subtle.

Another was in Guild Wars 1. Two mesmers, using their skills to echo each other. One was CopycatKiller, the other KillerCopycat.

Too hard to choose just one. Here's some of my worst/best (depending on personal perspective)

Prince Of Dimness - not quite evil enough
The_Mathil_Effect - whatever was meta at that time
Dizzy_Gillespie - Cyclone character of course
Alan_Parsons_Projectile - you have to be a certain age to get that reference
Dapper_Trapper_Slapper - has a nice rhythm to it
Blink_Missed_Me - Flicker strike character of course
Spark_Ark_For_A_Lark - Messing about with Spark
Some_Bright_Spark - Another Spark build
Summon_Get_It - Summoner build of course

I wont lie, I really love The Shadow of Sarn. its one of those I tend to use every time I make a new shadow, always keeping the old one till I give up on it.

I also reuse The Goddess Reborn for my scion

I don't put that much effort into my character names. I use three resources for my names:

1) What's in front of me on my desk at the moment of creation
2) The mechanics of the build I'm planning
3) Guild members using the same templates for names every league? Well, have to steal some of those once in a while.

I have SirIsaacMolten.

Sadly there's no "Molten" skill currently available that's worthy of the name.
