Help with understanding Alert level

Hello, I have a problem with understanding how the alert level is currently working. Since some patch, I no longer raise the alert level when killing enemies in a heist - except in some circumstances. For example I did a whole heist (with Tibbs) an killed mobs on the way in and the only time the alert level rised was when I opened a chest. But the following one (with Nenets) I started having the alert level going up without opening chests. It is not linked to killing enemies in general as I could do several rooms killing mobs without this alert-rising effect in that last heist.

Does somebody know which criteria currently trigger the alert level beyond opening chests? (presence of Nenets?...)I haven't found a post on that but might be mistaken, don't hesitate to point me on the answer if it already exists.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'll assume that you used Nenet for perception contracts.

In some of the contracts including perception observer totems can spawn that will increase the alert level if they're not killed fast enough or if you just walk past them.
However, in most heists only opening chests and stealing the objective will increase your alert level.

Do note that these totems will be slightly changed in the upcoming patch next week.

"
Observer Totems in Contracts requiring the Perception Job now only increase your Alert Level if their area of effect pulse hits you.

Thanks a lot for the tip, that looks exactly like the phenomenon I experienced.
