Mac keystrokes cause "can't do that" beep

I vaguely remember someone posting about this before, but it doesn't have a "Mac Client" tag and I wasn't able to find it easily.

Often, certain keys (most annoyingly enter, return, and tab) will make the the little "you can't do that" beep sound every time they're pressed. Enter, moreover, doesn't seem to do anything BUT make that beep (can't use it to log in, can't use it to select a number of currency items from a stack, etc...)

I just realized that, some of the times when this is happening, selecting a zone from a waypoint brings up the screen where you can choose which instance you want. So maybe the beeping (and useless enter key?) is caused by the client thinking that the control key is stuck down? Or something like that?

Offering this in case it helps diagnose.

Same problem for me. Also, the extra buttons on my trackball beep and aren't assignable in the UI.
I too have this issue.
Same issue - had to turn off system sounds in the sound preferences but not ideal.
