Why you died in Heist: a review

You died because you didn't project a minion or totem or void sphere into the doorway to absorb their unison attack.

So is this the solution, everybody use void sphere? Or totems? Or minions? What about builds that don't use any of those? What about melee builds?

The problem is not this mechanic per se, IMHO it makes sense and must stay. The problem is the mobs are overtuned. Some level 50 mobs have more life/damage than 65 mobs. So the experience from leveling monsters to Heist monsters is brutal, and this leaves a bad taste and "lol bad league" feeling. The league difficult must be similar to your current leveling or map experience.

It's not the first time GGGCent releases overtuned content and make a bad experience for leveling/early maps. But GGGCent seens to never learn from past mistakes.

I don't think it's a mistake. They do it so players can't exploit it if it's undertuned or to rewarding like duping 6-links in Bestiary recipe they removed later. Deleting content leaves bad taste. Lowering the overtuned difficulty over time is safe and OK at least for me.
My builds:
3.8 75/75 block 7.5k HP Zombie/Skeleton build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2650898

But for many players it's a terrible experience. Imagine the "WTF I can kill act 10 Kitava but this level 45 mob don't die?" experience.

League content must be as close as to leveling/mapping experience as possible to avoid that. Harvest was a perfect league in this aspect: the mobs met your level of power perfectly. I didn't see any "Harvest mobs overtuned" post for the entire league.

In fact I think Harvest was the first league since I started playing that the mobs were not overtuned nor undertuned and no one complained. All other leagues I played (Shitesys, Betrayal, Legion, Delirium, Blight) all were overtuned at the start.
"There's no thing like random one-shots in this game. You only die because you take 353,456,237 hits in 0.2 seconds."

"The best items in the game should not be crafted, they should be TRADED." - Cent, GGG
New league, new mechanics. If what you're doing isn't working, mix it up. That's why I enjoy this game. You never play the same way twice.

You failed the mission because you didn't budget enough time for forseeable contingencies.

'I died because of GGGs stupid decision to pool rare monsters behind the door'
You died because you didn't project a minion or totem or void sphere into the doorway to absorb their unison attack.

'I died because of untested and overpowered mechanics and abilities LUL QA'
You died because of new abilities that you don't understand and can't quickly process yet because you've only done a fraction of the heist repetitions you will have done by the end of the league. Furthermore league content is designed around how powerful you will be later in the league, not how powerful you are when you first get to maps.

'I died because of the Allies can't die rare monster modifier, this is a bug'
No.

'Even the streamers who pour thousands of hours into the game are dying'
Your terms are acceptable. This is a buff.

'Just build defense lol'
This, but unironically.

'My Grand Heist reward room didn't have anything worth more than 1c in it, this is as bad as dying'
You poor thing.

WTF is this whiteknightism???

+1
If GGG released a boss that had instant kill lasers with a 0.1 second telegraph and 10 invincibility phases where it could still damage you, as well as an unavoidable slow/stun, people would still white knight and defend it. At least GGG can hopefully see that the majority of vocal players are of the opinion that the damage is massively overtuned this league.
There's no powercreep here. Creep implies it's slow and could be overlooked, this is a full out sprint.

I'm starting to realize after all these years that there is no arguing with these people. They will buy every supporter pack and feverishly defend GGG because they will praise literally anything GGG does. But these people pay the bills, the rest of us don't matter.
This is a buff™
