New Leveling Method: Mapping
Make the campaign optional! It's not just Path of Exile, some ARPGs are just not fun to level up and of course each person will feel differently.
For me, leveling in Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, and Last Epoch aren't fun. But I have 1300 hours in Hero Siege, I have 2000+ hours in Diablo 2, 500+ hours in Path of Diablo and love leveling. There is something about going through the campaign everytime that ruins the experience for me. For this reason, I play softcore mode literally only because I don't like re-leveling in this game. I want to so an alternative method to level up! MAPPING! This Heist league has really shown me how fun it would be to map 1-68. New system could be selected at the start screen like: Select your leveling method: 1.) Campaign 2.) Maps Both ways grant passive skill points. Maps could give an XP% modifier for how difficult your map is. If you want to level faster, you must face harder maps. Would be interesting for hardcore mode. This kind of leveling method, I think I would go back to playing hardcore mode. It's not about the time it takes to level, it's the way we level that isn't appealing to me. EDIT: Appealing to a wider audience is great especially when it doesn't make huge changes to the game as a whole. I feel a new OPTIONAL way of leveling up wouldn't change much. You simply get to 68 with this new method, then start end game mapping. Skill points can be obtained in a new way. You will make more money by appealing to more players. I actually took a long break from Path of Exile because I was so burnt out and it stems from literally running the campaign 100's in hardcore mode. I switched to softcore mode which is a bandaid fix in my opinion. I would much rather play hardcore mode but I refuse to go through the campaign more than once. twitch.tv/ironman_isomer Last edited by raserei#0735 on Sep 20, 2020, 12:56:48 PM Last bumped on Sep 21, 2020, 4:18:25 AM

This. A thousand times this. I actually was coming here specifically to post this. I played in Synthesis and leveled a few characters. I considered playing the next season, but ended dropping PoE. I started playing again in Harvest, and I struggled through leveling one character so I could get to the fun part of the game. Now that Heist is here, I'm probably going to drop PoE again until there's a way to skip the campaign. I just don't have it in me to level another character through this campaign.

While I agree that having options would be beneficial there are just too many things that are tied to the story mode.
Passive point quests, skill gem quests, lab trials, bandit reward, and pantheon kills and I also believe they want the game's story to matter? But yeah for lab you'd need to go through the story at least once in a league and the rest I'm not sure they'd give you the quest rewards while doing map leveling. It'd essentially be like having infinite ledge which they used to seem pretty against. That all said you can kinda do something similar as long as it's a second character. But yeah Azerite mine sulphite is shared between characters so you can level specifically in the mine after you unlock it on a character as long as you have another in maps to provide the sulphite. Similarly this league you can kinda do the same thing in the heist stuff from the start kinda since there's a guy you can buy contracts from that are 1 level above you and they don't cost much. It's just as I said though as you don't have the stuff you get from doing the story. Last edited by IonDrako#4482 on Sep 20, 2020, 2:41:22 PM

" Didn't they already confirm that there will be some other way of leveling with PoE2? Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.
