Damage from shock and critical strikes. Increased or More?

Oh, sorry for misreading that. Are there there other modifiers that add with crit multiplier though?

Shock stack with damage "TAKEN" increase.
If you reach a 50% damage "TAKEN" increase it still 50% MORE damage The thing is that shock is base on the % of the enemies hp you did (Shock effect and damage apply shock as X% more damage reduce the needed damage) If you do 100 and shock for 20%. 100*(1+0.2) = 120 If you add another 10% damage "TAKEN" increase 100*(1+0.2+0.1) = 130 If you add 100% damage increase 100*(1+1)*(1+0.2+0.1) = 260 Damage. Damage Taken affect how much an enemies take and is a multiplier (MORE) added on how much damage you do. vs Damage Increase affect your damage directly. As for crit multiplier you had it to your crit damage (150% + TOTAL Crit multiplier %) If you have 100% crit multipler you do (150% + 100% = 250%) in case you do land a critical strike. I hope I don't have to explain that Crit are a multiplier and 250% represent 2.5x time your damage whiteout a Crit. Last edited by milorius#5160 on Sep 18, 2020, 7:46:07 AM

There are several types of damage modifiers, and damage modifiers that do not say “more” in their very name stack into a single more modifier. More simply being a PoE term to specify the stat is multiplicative with other sources. Gems for example for the most part say # more damage, as well as several Ascendencies. There are even a few places on the tree that say more.
If you have 325% increased damage, 225% increased physical damage, and 150% increased attack damage, then when you did a physical attack all those sources would add up to 700% increased, and the 700% is multiplicative with other damage sources. Now take shock. Say you shock for 25%. You use L1Maim Support making enemies take 10% increased physical damage. You have the Inquisitor Sanctuary Ascendency making enemies take 10% increased damage when on Consecrated Ground. You have Elemental Weakness curse applied for 30% increased elemental damage taken. You have All those sources add up to 45% increased physical damage taken, 65% increased elemental damage taken, and only 35% increased chaos damage taken. Whatever the increase is, it too is multiplicative with other damage sources. Critical strikes function in the same way. Add up every source of increased critical strike multiplier, if you get to 200% then when you crit there is an additional 200% multiplier. Remember, these multipliers are all synonymous with the more tag, and each group of damage is multiplied with other groups. When something says more damage, that simply means the single stat is it’s own multiplier. |
