Can't download new patch - "couldn't resolve host name while downloading..."
3.11.2 patch won't download, gets stuck shortly after starting and I get the error message "Error: couldn't resolve host name while downloading http://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/3.11.2.1/Bundles2/Art/Textures/Environment/EndGame/AtlasExiles/GroundMaterials_35.bundle.bin"
Tried deleting content.ggpk and running packcheck.exe but the problem persists. Ran the uninstaller and selected repair which got it past that error but it runs into the same one later with a different file. Going to try a full reinstall now deleting all local files. Edit: no luck still has the same error but again with a different file. Last edited by jimaf#4013 on Sep 11, 2020, 12:45:45 AM Last bumped on Sep 11, 2020, 3:47:10 PM

This issue is old. You can find post from 2012 about this problem. I am getting it as well, every 400-500mb it crashes. It does continue from where it crashed, so eventually you will download, but new 23gb patch means like 50-60 crashes, so cannot leave it over night sadly...
There will be torrent download like 1 day before new league, not sure if it will help much. I think this is caused by too much speed, lol. PoE for me gets the craziest download speeds, and maybe because of that it somehow cuts internet connection. May be ISP limiting your speed, i don't know. I am not getting it on any other game, so it is either PoE problem or ISP. On steam you can limit download speed, i think, not sure if PoE still use its own launcher. I am trying VPN, it kind of helps, not sure if it will crash, but using VPN is limiting my download speed so maybe connection will remain stable. Non of free VPNs will have unlimited data transfer, unless you manually change your DNS. I think some people mentioned using google DNS IP. Woolfio @YouTube

I have the same problem with the stand alone client, but it worked fine with steam.
