Iron Hideout Competition #2. Unofficial event. Voting is closed and results are in!
 Welcome, this is the second Iron Hideout Competition, a friendly event and something to have some fun with while we wait for the new leaguestart. Made by the community, for the community. No entry fee, no cost, just some good ole fashioned fun. This is totally unofficial and hosted by FallMakesHideouts, with help from Guggelhupf and Synopsis. ▶️ ❗❗❗ This competition is over, checkout the 3rd competition here (link) ❗❗❗ ◀️ Alright, so lets dig in!  Anyone can submit hideouts they have designed, however we have a few rules on what counts as a valid hideout for the competition, to keep things fair, see Rules below. We run this once every league as something to do as people finish league goals. The next competition will be at midleague 3.12. Will be the same format but also will have a community vote for the theme and more time to enter (4-5 weeks rather than 3). Once the submission period is over, the community will have a few weeks to vote on their favourite hideouts that were submitted. Then, we will announce top voted hideouts.  The inspiration for this event is the show Iron Chef! Like the show, entries must follow a specified theme. And what is that theme? Well, that will be announced Friday 28 August, 2020, 4 PM EST!  ► Theme announced, submissions open: Friday 28 August, 2020, 4 PM EST ► Submissions close, community voting opens: Friday 18 September, 2020, 4 PM EST ► Voting closes: Wednesday 30 September, 2020, 4 PM EST Submissions close in 3weeks and exactly at 3.12's current announced leaguestart. It will not change if leaguestart is moved. Voting closes at the end of September. Winners will get announced soon after.   Make your hideout into a HIDDEN HAVEN! Maybe it is a cozy place to relax between maps. Maybe it is the last refuge in the battle against Heaven and Hell. Maybe it is something else. Stories, lore, etc are encouraged but make sure the theme is seen in the hideout, the story should not be the ONLY place the theme is! This theme can take many forms, and we welcome artistic liberties to be taken on the thematic concept. Have fun!  We contacted GGG and while we are allowed to have the event, we are not allowed to have any sort of ingame prizepool (so no exalts, sorry!) The community has generously offered some prizes. A commentary/showcase of all the current submissions by Brittleknee on Twitch ► Stream starts Monday, September 14th, 8 AM EST and also will be announced on Brittleknee's Twitter ► All submitters who want to be on the stream can be. This IS a couple days before submissions close, so completed or in progress submissions both are welcome. ► Optional: jump into a discord call with Brittleknee during stream and talk about your hideout, the things you're proud of, how you expanded on the theme, etc. She could then take a tour of the hideout and you could point out different things. The hideout must be created after the competition has started. 2. The hideout must be submitted via https://hideoutshowcase.com/ or https://poe.house/ (It does the useful job of tallying up total favor cost and checking for any MTX decos) 3. No MTX hideouts or decorations. Can only be a hideout you could obtain via normal means in game without spending any currency in the MTX shop. It must be 100% decorations from Favor (Excluding "Free" decorations like crafting bench of course) 4. Keep it PG13. This shouldn't need explaining. 6. Hideouts that are just copies of existing submitted hideouts will be disqualified, IE "Took a popular hideout, tweaked it a bit, resubmitted it" 7. Any form of plagiarism will result in an immediate disqualification and ban from any future Iron Hideout competitions 8. If you are voting, your forum account MUST be created before this post was made to be eligible to vote. Please have atleast your overview page public so we can check this, or your vote won't count. The point of this is to prevent cheating. 9. And finally, the most interesting rule of all and why we call it "Iron Hideout Competition"... The submitted hideout must follow a specified theme. (Y/N) ► Social Media Link (Optional): ONE link to your content (Twitch, Youtube, Twitter, etc) Feel free to go into as much detail as you want. Submissions not containing a .hideout file will not be accepted. It is very recommended you upload a youtube showcase vid because it's easier to understand the hideout. If you cannot make a video, post with your submission and we will help you make one.  Once the submission period is over, the community will have a few weeks to vote on their favourite hideouts that were submitted. There will be a new thread for this. Then, we will announce top voted hideouts. Individuals voting are encouraged to please heavily weigh how much the submitted hideout sticks to and represents the competitions theme!  ► When is the next competition? No. Even though it is not actual MTX, it is a decoration you can't buy with favour even if you want, and is something all players have different amounts and sizes of. " Maybe. Original idea for no MTX entries was to try and level the playing field between veterans and newcomers. We also wanted to start small with 1 category because we don't know how much interest this will get. (Iron Hideout #1 got 4 entries, there's a LOT of ideas we are saving for Iron Hideout #3) I really like that idea of 2 categories, however I spoke with people about community prizes when there was 1 category so we are hesitant to change the rules now. People already offered their time and effort for free, it wouldn't be fair for us to ask them to do more work, and wouldn't be fair to participants to split the prizepool in 2. It's still early in the competition, if there is overwhelming interest we will see if we can add the MTX and non MTX category. No guarantees though. But definitely will keep that in mind for planning the next competition! (planned for halfway point or end of 3.12, depending on interest) " Oops fixed. As GGG stopped making hideout competitions, I'm sure there are a lot of people who created beautiful hideouts after the last competition but couldn't get into one because there weren't any. And this competition will be a lot richer and better if that rule is removed in my opinion. Also there are only a handful or two people remains now that continuously keep making hideouts. You can just change the rule to "If your hideout was chosen amongst winners in any competition or showcase made by GGG, it won't be counted." So this way those beautiful hideouts I'm talking about will be in the competition, but those famous already prize winner ones won't be able to enter. Good luck to everybody! Cartographer's hideout was my first favorite hideout, but due to the size and light, it was very difficult to work around. BUT! When the water plane decoration was released, I decided I needed to give it another go, because the level differences would make an amazing lake. Throw in Fall's decision to make the theme "Secret Haven" and I knew what I was going to do. The Secret Forest Lake is a secluded haven, just outside a grand old keep, inhabited by the Godslayers. This is where our tired exiles can relax and recharge afer hard days of traversing the Atlas. It may be small, but it has everything needed. And while the Godslayers are away, off to save the world, the groundkeeper and his wife (who lives in the small hut by the lake) oversees the maintenance of the place. ► Do you want your entry to be shown on the showcase stream(s)?
