Honestly, just check Path of Building for these sorts of things. The community fork will account for the full impale damage calculation including overwhelming physical damage reduction. I have personally found that the Impale Support gem was significantly worse than just using Dread Banner for my own build (that still reached 100% impale chance that way), but it is entirely possible that, since you have much less damage per hit and a higher hit frequency, overwhelming physical damage reduction makes a much bigger difference.

Again, just try out all relevant configurations in PoB and check which one does the most damage.
