[noob question] Why do people constantly whisper wtb and then bail?

I'm relatively new to the game. Just started selling all the stuff I've collected and I keep having people whisper that they wanna buy something and then just reject my invite and go offline. what's up with that?

They whisper 30 people at the same time and take the first to reply.

Most people dont reply so you are kinda forced to pm multiple people.

1) They've spammed several and jump on the first answer
2) They are fishing, finding out if you're price is real or price fixed. Some people do this before pricing their items. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

In trade, there are sellers that ALWAYS price low to scam others in pricing low so they can cheat those sellers. The solution? SSF.

Those are not people. Those are bots. PoE is overrun with bots atm, and yes, what made me drop poe is the bots that whisper wtb, you stop what you were doing to trade - and the bots drop the party and dont trade.
Once, twice... three dozen times. And no more poe for me. Too many bots. Those are not people, those are all bots. |

The bots this league are crazy! I get whispered for granite flasks probably
10-15 times a map. For the first few I would leave the map and try to trade with them but now all they do is drop party. Trade is getting stupid. We really need a button that say a yes to trade and it’s done instead of us leaving the map or delve or lab to do this. Hell we need a trade system that if you post something for 10c and I go to buy it that’s the price not just posting it to show it off or price fixing the item. I think the trade system is really pushing people into ssf or off the game in general. |

The bots that message you for specific meta items are the worst. Trying to sell delirium orbs is pure cancer because there are multiple people using bots to spam every new post.
