Rant about (yet another stupid and unbalanced fight) Oshabi
Oficially the fight with Oshabi is even more retarded than the one with Kosis, GGG should do a Fired game on how bad they handle the things with some bosses, like seriously, perma fucking Death ground and i can't fucking see the difference between her fucking SPELLS.
how should've been done : the Death/Fire ground should have a 1 min on the ground then it Disappears. monster doesn't fucking gives u refill, cause why would they. the fight itself is bugged, i got fucking Frozen while i was immune to it, explain this how but i doubt you can do that. and lastly, make a fucking OPTION to off the brightness of this fucking LEAGUE and make a fucking COLOR BLIND MODE, are you that stupid to not even read ????? i can't see the difference between her fucking SPELLS, ATTACKS and her fucking ANIMATION CASTING cause the fucking WHOLE FIGHT is fucking BLINDING MY EYES, not only that, we want an option to get the Bright mode from Harvest OFF and a fucking COLOR BLIND MODE. Physical DoT ground is permanent much like Elder's Physical DoT ground. While it is a bad idea, it is not the first time they did it. What is unfair, though, is that the ground looks like Burning Ground and people expect the Burning Ground immunity to be ok. As a melee, I find unfair that the Ground is dropped at Vine's death, therefore ridding me of the chance of getting the Condition unless I do the kill in some other clever way. But, yeah, I too would like for it to disappear, though I guess one could use it by spotting a safe zone in the Grove
Monsters do yield refill just like a Breachlord spawns. What they don't do is giving a refill expected from their rarity. Apparently even unique Vines are considered to be Normal, even when their life pool is clearly boss-tier I won't rule out the possibility that your "freezing" was a freeze like The Elder, which is stated to be a Freeze but it's more like a Petrified: an ailment that stops you and from which you cannot be immune I have dyschromatopsia, which does not mean that I am technically colorblind, but I have nevertheless difficulties in distinguishing colors and naming them. In this league it came quite in determining the colors of Primal and Wild - no, I refuse to call that "Wild" red. Red is Atziri. Wild's red is something between Breach's purple and Atziri's red, in my eyes. This also means some difficulties in determining if that is the Wild or Primal phase on a glance. Fungal Hollow map is the only place in this game where my eyes can finally tell what color is what. They don't need to invent a new color-blind theme if they don't have budget/time - just give me an option to make everything colored like Fungal Hollow that does not involve me being on actual mushrooms. As for the "Brightness", Harvest League has been chosen as the league for testing how the super-Bloom effects work on. Many a player went away not just from Harvest but from the game itself for the eyesore the Bloom is giving them while playing. GGG has solved the problem for some parts of the content - mostly MTX - but is not solving the generic problem and it's not allowing players to just disable Bloom. It's not just HotG battle - it's how PoE will be for the next 2 months. Hopefully. |

Lol? Oshabi is in a very good state. Did 3 conditional challenge on first time killing her... The ground one got me in the last minute by MY mistake.
The trick is to kill a single vine fast and get out ASAP so the ground area is minimal. Unfortunatelly the vines are curse immune, that's the only thing about this fight I don't like. frostzor27, your first try is what made you ask how the fight was to begin with. And that's OK! PoE's boss fights are getting too complex to expect to blindly charge and get everything on the first try, expecially with condition. Oshabi, if any, is a refreshing case of non-phased battle - it's almost a DPS check. Unfortunately, GGG is barring the attempts to even understand how them works behind a dull grinding - made even worse by the treacherous Bloom. It's enough to make a player get raging fits like these - and I understand them, fully.
I thank you for the suggestion for the Ground condition and the warning about the curse-immune. I am pretty sure the ground was dropped on the Vine's death, but things were a bit hectic so I may have been mistaken Last edited by Maxtrux#0762 on Jul 24, 2020, 11:01:44 AM

In general, it's fine to make "the boss" too hard. It's a challenge to overcome. It's not ok to make the "boss's minions" too hard. That's my beef against this "Conquerors" stuff. If you can beat the minions, the rest of the game is trivial. Shouldn't be that way.
Fights like the one you're talking about are ones you will learn. You'll eventually even find easy. But, I agree in principle that GGG does make their boss fights too hard. |

Just fight her in a 100% aoe T16 while not understanding that map mods apply. Or maybe not caring cause I just leveled? Or maybe I was TRYING to get to seed stash and started the fight with a misclick?
Then win while standing in the only 3 feet of unburned ground! 1 death though, 10 freeze balls in a line got me. I will wear your ghost and you will die twice, against me and for me.
That is some cold blooded shit to say... |

" I didn't say "my first try". I said my first kill. My first try I went in blind, did a lot of mistakes, didn't know about the ground being physical and not fire... Also did it in dangerous mods map... I failed hard, real hard. So since it takes forever to spawn her again I asked for help :) I agree, some boss fights take som much that you can't even understand the fight before the league ends. Worse: you can't pratice. Examples: Sirus, Oshabi. Even watching videos, in pratice the theory is different. GGG should make some things more accessible to casuals... Specially bosses that drop crap loot like Oshabi. For example I'm almost 8k map tiers and only spanwed Oshabi twice... The 100% lifeforce requirement between spawns can make what is supposed to be 100 maps into like 150 or even 250. I never used Zana missions as much as I'm using this league... Kudos on that GGG. Edit again XD After I learned I loved Oshabi fight. It's a DPS check boss, no phases, no stupid oenshots, no offscreening... For once GGG made a great work here. The only dangerous thing is the degen ground, but as used to Uber Elder as I am once I knew that now it's a matter of DPS and staying away from it. Also there's an icon on the boss!! Wish Sirus had that too. You can literally run around her and avoid all her attacks except vine prison. Of course I'm a bleed bow champion so it's way easier... Melee I don't even know, melee is screwed in PoE. "There's no thing like random one-shots in this game. You only die because you take 353,456,237 hits in 0.2 seconds." If you ride your AW totem hard, melee can definitely get the challenge kill.
Found myself in a t16 reflect map last night and discovered that Yugul also protecs your totems a bit. Obv it's not as strong as the elder chest and ring but it's definitely worth looking into. Most boss "dots" and debuffs are specifically designed so ground-effect mitigation, Arakaali, Abberath, warding, etc. are useless. You literally have to have Kaom's on you feet, or be an Unstoppable jugg, or be herald/aura stacking (hard phys reduction) and have >2500 hp regen to outpace it. Same thing with Elder squid poop and Kosis cheese, sirus beams, etc. All meant as a sort of paywall behind which all the meaningful league content is sequestered. These mechanics literally drive the economy as we see it now, with aura stacker clusters and corrupted-immunity jewels joining the woke spell echo and multistrike gems at the top of the food chain. " I knew map mods would apply but then I accidentally opened the heart coming from a 100% added lightning damage + vulnerability T15 because I didn't see it was done yet. I still won the fight on the last portal but fuck me, that was ugly because I hadn't even checked out the mechanics before... Burned. Ground. Fucking. EVERYWHERE. |

I found Oshabi to be extremely easy.
Probably that's because of extremely big arena (no other boss in the game have an arena of such size), so you could really easy dodge most of the mechanics just by running in a circle around the boss. I got 3/4 challenges on my first blind run (failed the burning ground one) by running in the circles around her. Though, it could depend on the build, I guess it is harder for melee builds to dodge some of the mechanics. I guess it also depends on map mods (I run her in the white T13 without mods, because the drop is guaranteed AFAIK). Kosis is much harder for me, since he spawns in the Simulacrum, which is smaller, and has Flicker Strike. |
